"More often than not tantrums, particularly with children with AUTISM who are unable to communicate, stems from the frustration that comes with not being able to express their wants (eg a particular toy), to escape from an unwanted activity/situation (eg if the room is too noisy and the child wants to leave it) or to avoid a situation/activity that they don’t want (eg if the child is being asked to do homework, but he wants to avoid it).
