Writing with Heart: Celebrating Our HAIsian!

Our HAIsians recently took part in the Live On Festival (LOF) Essay Writing Competition, an initiative by the National Organ Transplant Unit (NOTU), Ministry of Health (MOH). Through art and writing, the festival encourages youths to explore the deeply human topic of organ donation and transplantation, while reflecting on values of responsibility, compassion and empathy.

We are proud to share that our Secondary 2 HAIsian, Emma Lien Ruelle from 2 Charity, received the Merit Award in the Junior Category! 👏

Told from the unusual perspective of a donated heart, Emma’s essay follows its journey from Asher, a young man who loses his life in an accident, to Hailey, a girl given a new chance at life through his gift. Through this poignant story, she explores the idea that death does not always mean disappearance — through organ donation, a part of someone, and the life they lived, can continue in another.

🎉 Calling all Hai Sing Alumni, Come Back and Say Hello! 💙

We’ll be celebrating Teachers’ Day on Thursday, 3 September, and we’d love to welcome our alumni back to visit the teachers who taught, guided and journeyed with you. 😊

Embodying this year’s National Day theme, “Go Beyond,” our school came together to celebrate Singapore’s birthday with pride, purpose, and heart! We kicked off the morning with a dignified Observance Ceremony and Flag Party led by our Uniformed Groups under the leadership of the NCC, followed by the School Management Committee (SMC) Award Presentation. Our students expressed their national pride through various activites capturing the spirit of Go(ing) Beyond.

The celebrations culminated in the hall with an energetic lineup featuring an interactive quiz with prizes, the moving "Our Wish for Singapore" video, and a reflective Recollections segment. The grand finale brought the house down with incredible musical performances as our Choir sang "Sparkle" and our Band played stirring renditions of "We Are Singapore" and "Home," ending a deeply meaningful day on a high note. Majulah Singapura as we continue to Go Beyond together!

HSC x CPDD Eco Wheel Challenge

In Term 2, as part of Hai Sing Catholic's Sustainability Week, our Sec 2 science students took part in the Eco Wheel Challenge 2026, jointly organized by the Science Department and Applied Learning Programme (ALP) Committee. Inspired by the CPDD STEM Playground Challenge, students were required to make a gravity-powered water wheel using only sustainable materials. The objective of this challenge was to increase students' interest, curiosity and creativity in STEM activities, as well as to develop school spirit and e21CC in them. It also challenged our students to apply their critical, adaptive and inventive thinking skills, as well their Science knowledge into developing effective prototypes, aligning with our goals of developing Purposeful Students and Lifelong Learners. Blessed and Renewed, Grateful Hearts!

What an incredible day of celebration at this year’s HAI Star Awards and Foundress Day 2026 held at the end of Term 2! Grounded in our theme, our school community came together to honor student excellence, resilience, and service, keeping the inspiring legacy of our Foundress, Blessed Mary of the Passion, alive.

A massive congratulations to all our award winners! Your hard work, growth, and dedication have truly inspired us. We wish you continued success and renewed passion as you keep shining your light in everything you do!

We may have been quiet online, but school life certainly hasn’t slowed down. Over the next few weeks, join us as we look back on the many moments, milestones and memories that have filled our campus since May!

Our school spirit was at an all-time high at our highly anticipated Sports Carnival! From intense court battles in basketball, volleyball, and badminton, to thrilling matches in football, floorball, captain’s ball, boccia, and our brand-new e-sports arena, students gave it their absolute all.

More than just winning, it was a beautiful display of sportsmanship as students cheered each other on and learned valuable lessons in teamwork and grit from one another. To top off an unforgettable day, the winning teams of each sport even went head-to-head against our very own teachers in epic, friendly showdowns!

Our school will be having its annual HAI Star Awards and Foundress Day celebration tomorrow, 29/5/2026. The event aims to recognise our students for their resilience and effort and celebrate their success in the academic and non-academic domains. The event is also an important occasion for HAIsians to pay tribute to our foundress, Blessed Mary of the Passion, who enabled the growth of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary and made the founding of our school possible.

Hai Sing Catholic School warmly welcomed students and staff from Sekolah Regina Pacis, Jakarta, Indonesia, for a meaningful two-day immersion programme. During their visit, the students participated in classroom lessons and co-curricular activities, gaining a firsthand experience of school life at Hai Sing.

The programme also included outdoor learning at Pasir Ris Park and the nearby mangrove swamp, where students explored Singapore’s natural environment. Our Hai Sing student hosts played an important role in guiding and accompanying their Indonesian peers throughout the visit, fostering friendship and cultural exchange.

Sekolah Regina Pacis, like Hai Sing, is an FMM school, and we share strong common values. This visit continues the spirit of partnership following Hai Sing’s visit to Jakarta last year.

We thank Sekolah Regina Pacis for being part of our community and look forward to strengthening this meaningful connection.

In the Catholic faith, the blessing of a place invites God’s presence into our community and dedicates our work of education and learning to Him.

Today, we were deeply honoured to welcome His Eminence William Cardinal Goh to bless Hai Sing Catholic School and unveil the Papal blessing, which is especially significant to us in this Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Once again, Hai Sing would like to thank all guests who were here with us to witness the blessing. And a big heartfelt thanks to all donors, FMM sisters, our Catholic community, alumni, workers, builders, parents, staff and students who have played a role in building our school.
