Sometimes, the reason behind a child’s smile is closer than we think. ❤️

During our PCTC/PTC, parents were invited to open a special flap to discover the reason behind their child’s happiness. Looking back at them was their own reflection. It was a simple yet meaningful reminder that the love, support and encouragement of parents and caregivers play an important role in every child’s growth and well-being.

Thank you, parents, for partnering with our teachers through meaningful conversations and a shared commitment to your child’s growth. Together, we continue to nurture confident learners and caring individuals who flourish both in and beyond the classroom.

Marsiling Primary School’s Hari Raya celebration blossomed beautifully around the theme “Bloom with Kindness, Grow with Hope”.

The concert opened with a meaningful Malay poem (pantun) by our school leaders, reminding us that just like flowers, we grow and become better individuals through the values nurtured during Ramadan. The celebration continued with an energetic Dikir Barat, a graceful Malay dance, and a lively Hari Raya sing-along session, filling the hall with joy, culture and a strong sense of togetherness.

The excitement continued during recess, where Marsilians enjoyed festive games such as the Ketupat Relay, Spin the Wheel and a Hari Raya Kahoot quiz. They also took part in meaningful classroom activities, including craft work to decorate their classrooms with festive decorations. Through these hands-on experiences, they deepened their understanding of Ramadan while expressing creativity and appreciation for the occasion.

It was indeed a meaningful celebration that brought our school community together in the spirit of Hari Raya.

Green Citizenship @ MPS has been our school’s signature programme, nurturing our Marsilians to become environmentally responsible citizens for the future. Through meaningful learning experiences, they develop a deeper understanding of sustainability and their role in caring for the Earth.

In support of global movements such as World Water Day and Earth Hour, our Marsilians reflected on their responsibilities in areas such as energy conservation and sustainable living, and reaffirmed their commitment to making a difference. Through pre-assembly sharing, Marsilians took the lead in raising awareness, sharing key messages and encouraging their peers to play their part. They also gained hands-on experience with our rainwater harvesting system, learning how rainwater collected from rooftop gutters can be repurposed for daily use. Our teachers demonstrated its practical applications, and students had the opportunity to use the collected water to nurture plants in our Science garden.

In support of global initiatives, sustainability comes to life even in our art rooms, where collected rainwater is used for the first wash of colouring palettes.

Every small action counts. Together, let’s continue to care for the planet we call home.

Total Defence Day was commemorated through engaging, hands-on activities centred on this year’s theme, “Together, We Keep Singapore Strong.”

Marsilians were especially excited to take part in activities organised in collaboration with the Singapore Police Force, gaining insights into the role officers play in keeping our community safe. They also explored interactive booths, tried on different uniforms and equipment and learnt more about the pillars of Total Defence.

They also participated in simulation exercises such as a fire drill, lockdown drill and a digital connectivity disruption scenario under Exercise SG Ready, reinforcing the importance of staying calm and prepared.

It was a meaningful learning experience that strengthened our Marsilians’ awareness of how each of us can play a part in keeping Singapore strong.
