We string the Sustainable Development Goals, Singapore Green Plan, City In Nature and Leave No Trace into a full day experiential learning programme for the members of the Green Ambassador Club from ITE College East, West and Central. They definitely had an exciting time putting what they have learnt in an orienteering race around the East Campus.

It has been a while since we did a cohort programme. Thanks to West Spring PS for the chance to bring 200 primary 3 kids into the outdoors and allowing us to show them the nature we have in our neighbourhood and how Leave No Trace can be applied as we enjoy our City In Nature.

The Trails Community by Better Trails commemorated SG57 by rediscovering the heritage of the Civic District and the secret of Pearl's Hill. About 140 participants signed up over the span of three weekends and our zealous volunteers braved the winds and rain to facilitate the event.
Key highlights of the trail included notable bridges of Singapore River, the colourful MCI-MCCY building, Armenian Church (which houses the tomb of the late Agnes Joaquim whom is the creator of our national flower), CHIJMES and the Stamford Raffles statues.
This event is supported by SportSG under the

Glad to have concluded our first public run of Leave No Trace Trainer Course since covid started. The course is joined by 10 outdoor instructors from , and Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group. We learned together how we can infuse LNT into our local school OE programme and also more importantly how OE programme can be better organised to minimise impacts to our outdoors.
One interesting topic discussed was about the possibility of eliminating the need for campfires in our school OE camps. This is very important in not just protecting our outdoors but also contribute to saving our mangroves (if you know where most of our firewoods came from).
Like all previous LNTTC, an enrichment activity is conducted where we attempted to restore the campfire pit and naturalised fire marks left by indiscriminate lighting of fires outside the established fire pits.
We hope these new trainers will not only be able to plan better LNT programme but will also adjust their business operations to support sustainable adventures and contribute to the protection of our outdoor spaces.

Xavier and Eron, both youth volunteers of Better Trails, commemorated World Environment Day with a beach cleanup invited by Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment as they launched the national strategy to tackle marine litter. Better Trails has been part of MSE's dialogue in this initiative and we look forward to joining hands to work towards a healthier marine environment.
"Marine litter is a growing problem and it is important to educate the community of its impacts and how they can help. As a volunteer at Better Trails, I was given the privilege to be part of an important national strategy and I am thankful for this experience." Eron Ang, 18.
