LEAP took a staff retreat as a big family and what fun we had with the shopping and the meals. Most importantly we completed the main reason for our trip to Batam: To share our love and gifts of essentials and stationery to the orphans. Tugs our heartstrings to hear the stories of each of the little ones here. ❤️

The Mid-Autumn Festival is considered the second most important festival in China.
‘Zhōngqiū’ means ‘Mid-Autumn’ and Zhōngqiū kuàilè’ is used to say ‘Happy Mid-Autumn Festival.’
The Mid-Autumn Festival is so-named as it is held on the 15th of the 8th lunar month in the Chinese calendar. On this day, it is said the Moon is the brightest and roundest. Many families look forward to family reunions or a gathering of friends.
On behalf of all management and staff, we wish one and all a happy mid-autumn festival filled with family love and happiness.

*World Teachers' Day, also known as International Teachers Day, is an international day held annually on 5 October. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers that addresses the status and situations of teachers around the world.
More than 100 countries commemorate World Teachers' Day and each holds its own celebrations now on different dates.
In Singapore, we used to celebrate on 1 September every year till in 2012, it was changed to the last Friday before the end of Term 3 which usually falls in September.
On this special day dedicated to all Singapore Teachers, we wish all in the education sector a very very happy teachers' day.
Carpe Diem!

Happy 57th Birthday Singapore!
We learnt more about the different ethnic groups and the different kinds of food in Singapore. The children also went on a ‘tour’ with their ‘passports’, learning more about Japan, India and China, through crafts!
