“What’s the youngest age to start?”

As long as your child can sit at a table holding a pencil for about 10 minutes!

Beyond that, the family has to be ready too.
Are you ready to maintain daily study at home? Can the siblings help each other and better yet, can they share a new joy in this new motivation? Does the schedule line up with other activities?

Many elements come into play before each family decides to start KUMON journey. And for that we are grateful for every child that comes to us.

Here are 2 of our youngest.
Because of their older siblings, they “want to go to KUMON too!” 😄

Caleb did not start off at the “good” schools. He made his way painstakingly up through sheer grit and dedication. 💪🏼

We are delighted to see Caleb Yung featured by NTU Singapore for a journey shaped not only by achievement, but also by curiosity, leadership and a commitment to giving back.

From creating learning opportunities for students in Laos to graduating in Computer Science, Caleb continues to show where a willingness to learn can take someone.

A special congratulations to Loh Ching Lin, who has supported his journey as both his mum and Kumon Instructor. This is such a proud moment for the whole family and centre community. 💙

Simple changes to a daily conversation that will make all the difference.

A lovely reminder to take a step back and rethink what has always come “naturally” to us. 🙌🏼

just got better!
Thanks to , E casually catches up on his Daily Study as the family waits in line. Later while waiting for the food to arrive, his older brother will have his turn!

Then within 48 hours, their worksheets will be marked. If any mistakes were made, corrections can be done before they carry on with the rest of the sets — learning process is now so much tighter!

X and K went to the same kindergarten but different primary schools. When there’s a will, there’s a way.

Their mothers found a way for them to share in another learning journey! 🩵

“He has a lot of activities every day, really no time.”
“Don’t want to over-stress them.”
“She doesn’t want to do.”
“He cannot sit still.”
“They are too tired.”

Every thing we do or do not do, we have a choice. In fact, we make that choice.

As parents, it is on us to set the tone.

Kumon is not rote learning, it is not blind drilling and mindless repetition.

Kumon is a daily practice for our children to learn a little every day.

Much like meditation or yoga, 30 minutes a day of brainwork, in the field of English and Mathematics. Where continuous practice means commitment, discipline, and little by little over time, mastery.

Even at an exhaust shop somewhere out there in Malaysia, when there’s a will, there’s a way.

It’s that simple ;)

Because each child learns their own pace, it’s common to have children looking at others’ worksheets and going “so simple, why is his so simple? Can I do that instead?”

What they (and many parents) don’t realize is “simple” is not simple. Simple is subjective.

For this set of worksheets, can you tell that our 4-year-old A is doing great with
✏️ pencil grip
✍🏽 grip strength
🔡 tracing within the line slowly but surely
👀 not taking his eyes off the worksheets
🗣️ read 2 words at each page turn
📝 going from one letter to the next continuously with the same attention for 20 pages?

Put yourself in this cutie pie’s shoes — doing all the above requires full focus in one sitting of about 20 minutes.

Simple to us; an achievement for the little one! 💪🏾
