This year with the new addition of A division player Low Yihao, we managed to clinch our first champion at the annual Xiangqi team event. Most of the credits goes to our captain. Doctor Lim Chau sian.

新加坡象棋总会在会所举行的首届会员赛，总共有80 位会友参加。

比赛从上午九点三十分开始至下午四点三十分结束，经过九轮的激烈战斗，吴宗翰勇夺冠军。

2017 Sixga National Blitz Xiangqi Open (15+3 Seconds) was played by more than 80 participants during the Deepavali holiday. IGM Alvin Woo clinched the Championship title; Winning 8 out of 9 games and drawing his final game against International Master Yeoh Tian Ren.

IGM Alvin Woo won his 7th Champion in Xiangqi A Group Nationals.

2017 Singapore national selection results. IGM Alvin Woo Tsung Han clinched the title once again. This is his 8th National title. (6 National Champions) (2 National Selection Champion) A div player Francis Qiu Guan Jie is the runner up and Master Allen Chu came in 3rd place.

The 2017 Singapore Xiangqi National Team Selections kicked off on Monday 16th of Jan 2017 in the Singapore Xiangqi General Association. Our head coach International Grandmaster (IGM) Alvin Woo defeated up and coming A division player Mr Francis Qiu Guan Jie (is one of the new up and coming talents of the mindsport) in round 1 with black. These are pictures of round 2. IGM Alvin Woo has a Bye in round 2 due to odd number participants. (Please note that the national selection competition is not open to public.)

It is an honor to host a networking session followed by a few friendly matches with our new friend, Mr Robin Lai 赖罗平 of Hong Kong. Mr Lai is Hong Kong Xiangqi Association's Vice President and the President of the Western Chess Federation of Hong Kong. Mr 赖 a retired portfolio manager and private banker is a very talented player of Xiangqi and Western Chess. A former national player in Xiangqi (on several occasions top 2 in Hong Kong nationals) and he also appears to be of high calibre in Western Chess. Mr Lai has also co founded a Chess school in Hong Kong that provides training to individuals that pursues interest in Xiangqi and Western Chess. A well known figure in both Western Chess and Xiangqi Circle. We wish him well and look forward to see him soon.
