With their $2, what are they going to buy? We notice that the girls will ponder long and hard, and in the end make the sensible decision to buy food because they know they will get hungry later on 🥪

The majority of the boys on the other hand, will be tempted by the stationery and toys and end up spending their money on those items and maybe a milo 🫣

They also get to experience being on the other side, as tuckshop “uncle” or “auntie” and feeling what it’s like to have a queue of children to serve.

Experiencing the whole process of what Primary one is like gives them confidence as they know what to anticipate and eases their anxiety. This sets them up for a happy transition into primary school.
