๐ธ๐ฌ Going Beyond Together for SG61! โค๏ธ๐ค
As Singapore celebrated SG61, our students brought this yearโs National Day theme, โGo Beyond!โ, to life through a deeply meaningful collaboration with APSN Tanglin School! ๐โจ
The journey began on 27 July, when our joint Uniformed Group team visited APSN Tanglin School. Our students delighted everyone with a spirited Freestyle Drill performance before stepping straight into the classrooms to learn and bond alongside Tanglin students. ๐ฅ๐ค
The celebration continued on 7 August, as students from both schools attended each otherโs National Day Parades and Celebrations! ๐๐ธ๐ฌ
Beyond the sharp drills and festive music, these shared moments gave our Andersonians invaluable opportunities to lead with empathy, communicate openly, and learn alongside new friends. ๐กโค๏ธ
By stepping outside their comfort zones, our students discovered that true citizenship is about more than just celebrating our nationโit's about building genuine connections, embracing differences, and growing together as one community. ๐ค Total Defense in action!
Together, we went beyond our classrooms, beyond what was familiar, and beyond ourselves to celebrate SG61 with all our hearts. ๐ด๐ฆ

Our National Day Concert on 7 August celebrated Singaporeโs 61st birthday through vibrant student voices, creative ideas, and incredible talents! ๐
From French Fries (our student-initiated group of singers and musicians) to our Chinese Dance, Malay Dance, Wushu, and Choir, our performers brought infectious energy to the stage while exploring themes of identity, heritage, resilience, and hope. ๐ธ๐๐ฅ๐ถ
Our student emcees took the celebration beyond the performances, engaging the audience in thoughtful reflections on Singaporeโs journey and the future challenges our generation will navigateโfrom climate change to artificial intelligence and cyber safety. ๐ก๐ค
Through every segment, our students demonstrated the confidence to take the stage, the discipline to refine their craft, and the imagination to bring their vision to life! ๐
The atmosphere in the Hall was electric during the finale as over a thousand Andersonians reflected on one personal way they could "Go Beyond"โa powerful reminder that meaningful growth starts with one small, intentional choice. ๐ด๐ฆ

๐ธ๐ฌ Standing Tall. Moving as One. Celebrating as One Anderson! โค๏ธ๐ค
On 7 August, the Andersonian family gathered to commemorate Singaporeโs 61st National Day with our annual Observance Ceremony and Parade! ๐โจ
For the students leading the parade, the morning was about so much more than just commands and sharp formations. From our Parade Commander and Parade Sergeant Major to the contingent commanders, flag bearers, Anderson Military Band, Uniformed Groups, Student Councillors, and Infocomm crewโevery single student carried a shared responsibility with pride. ๐ซก๐ฅ๐ฅ
Behind every synchronized step were weeks of intense rehearsals and unwavering teamwork. Our students learned to stay composed under pressure, pay attention to the finest details, and build deep trust in one anotherโvaluable strengths that extend far beyond the parade ground! ๐ช๐ฅ
A deeply moving highlight of the morning saw our Andersonians marching side-by-side with students from APSN Tanglin School to proudly bring in our National Flag. ๐ค๐ธ๐ฌ
Our Student Councillors also presented the National Day Recollections, reminding us all of the resilience of past generations and the inspiring truth that "Now the future is in our hands." ๐
๐ A massive WELL DONE to every student who trained, rehearsed, led, performed, and worked behind the scenesโand a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers and partners who made this possible.
May our Andersonians continue to carry this same courage, discipline, and spirit of service wherever they go! ๐ด๐ฆ

Deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Lim Soon Tze, one of our pioneers in education who devoted her life to serving our schools and nurturing generations of Singaporeans.
Throughout her distinguished career as a teacher, principal and education leader, Mrs Lim made significant contributions to Singapore's education system. As Director of Educational Technology, she was one of the key leaders when we developed our first ICT Masterplan for Education - a crucial effort that equipped teachers with digital competencies, provided schools with necessary infrastructure, and paved the way for technology to become an integral part of teaching and learning.
Mrs Lim initiated the Director of Schools meetings to strengthen communication and dialogue between the Ministry and school leaders, creating a forum for school leaders to exchange ideas and navigate educational change together.
Her lifelong commitment to public service and education has left a lasting impact on our education system and generations of students, educators and school leaders. My deepest condolences to Mrs Lim's family and loved ones.

Our Class 3K students recently embarked on an eye-opening Business Visit organised by Halogen as part of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Programme! ๐

Working alongside Goldman Sachs corporate volunteers and Halogen facilitators, students had just 30 minutes to develop and pitch a solution to a real-world problem: How can we help young people become more confident and responsible with money? ๐กโฑ๏ธ
Our Andersonians rose to the challenge, pitching directly to two Goldman Sachs Heads of Departmentโand we are thrilled to announce that one of our Anderson teams took home the winning presentation! ๐๐

๐ค Leading the Way: Empowering Smart & Safe Gen AI Users! ๐ก
Our Digital Literacy Ambassadors (DLAs) and Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) recently joined forces for a fantastic peer-led initiative!
Together, they stepped into classrooms to deliver essential presentations on the safe and responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI). ๐ง โจ
Through these engaging sessions, our student leaders raised vital awareness about the potential risks of Gen AI, including:
๐ซ Misinformation and fake news
๐ฅ The dangers of deepfakes
๐ Plagiarism and academic integrity

More importantly, they equipped their peers with the tools to think critically, verify sources, and use AI as a responsible digital tool. ๐ ๏ธ๐
Kudos to our amazing DLAs and PSLs for taking the lead, stepping up as role models, and empowering the Andersonian community with crucial digital literacy skills! ๐๐ฆ
