π±β¨ Ground-up ideas. Shared hearts. Collective growth. β¨π±
What started as a ground-up Professional Learning Community (PLC) project amongst colleagues has since grown into opportunities for wider sharing and learning together across the education fraternity. π
On 21 May, our teachers, Ms Khoo Poh Leng, Ms Petrina Wong and Mr Don Eu, facilitated an experiential workshop, βInfusing CCE into English Language Classroom Discussionsβ, with passionate educators from diverse contexts, including NIE student-teachers, SPED schools, mainstream schools and IP schools. π«π€
Designed as an issue discussion lesson, participants stepped into the shoes of students π and experienced first-hand how contemporary issues can be used to spark thoughtful conversations, critical thinking, and values-based discussions.
Through the workshop, participants explored:
π How students form responses to discussion prompts
π£οΈ Ways to facilitate deeper classroom dialogue using ClarifyβSensitiseβInfluence questioning
𧩠The use of the ContextβDimension Frame and 21CC framework
π How CCE and 21CC can be meaningfully infused across academic subjects β including English Language and beyond
We are thankful for the rich conversations, openness and spirit of collegial sharing throughout the session. π
Learning truly becomes richer when educators come together with an abundance mindset - sharing practices generously, learning from one another, and growing together for the good of our students. πΏβ¨
