The earthquake of 7.4 magnitude hit Fukushima on the 16th March 2022. It caused many disruptions to Japan such as the power lines being cut off and a bullet train being derailed.
This can be seen in the O Level physical geography textbook as they described how the natural disasters even come about.

Amidst Covid 19, Singapore is still trying to find different means to boost economic growth in the country. Not only are there VTL (vaccinated travel lanes) , Singapore is also trying to boost domestic tourism such as going on cruise, staycation, etc. The government gave away ReDiscover vouchers for Singaporeans to use as a mean to boost growth in the tourism sector.
Tourism content is being covered in O Level Human Geography textbook as it explores various types of tourism across the world and the different initiatives through learning about case studies.
