We’re thrilled to welcome Ms. Shelley Lu as the new Vice Principal of Bethesda KinderCare!

With nearly 30 years in education, she is dedicated to nurturing young minds in a warm, supportive environment where children can thrive. Inspired by renowned Chinese educator Tao Xingzhi’s words—"捧着一颗心来，不带半根草去”（translated to “Carrying a heart full of love, asking for nothing in return") —Ms. Lu believes teaching is an act of love and dedication.

Her experience spans secondary and international schools to church kindergartens, shaping her deep understanding of how to spark curiosity, confidence, and character in young learners. A firm believer in hands-on, play-based learning, she values strong partnerships with parents to support each child’s growth.

As a lifelong learner, she has completed ECDA’s PDPL professional development program and brings expertise in mentoring educators and overseeing school accreditation. But above all, she finds joy in seeing a child’s eyes light up with discovery and building bonds of trust within a school community.

Answering God’s call, she joins the Bethesda KinderCare family with a heart full of gratitude. To her, education is more than a profession—it’s a mission to nurture young lives with Christ’s love and hope.

Beyond school, Ms. Lu finds balance through movement and mindfulness—she enjoys racquet sports for the thrill of the game and yoga for moments of peace. And when it's time to unwind, nothing beats a good book and a warm cup of honey lemon tea! 🫖

A throwback to 10th January, when we gathered for a blessed time of appreciating the past, celebrating the present, and dedicating the future of Bethesda Kindercare to God.

Here are just some of the faces of those who have poured into this ministry, giving their time, talent, and love. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

The evening was beautifully bookended with heartfelt worship, as we gave all glory and honour to the One who has faithfully guided us and will continue to lead us forward.

May we press on together, anchored in God’s faithfulness and trusting in His provision for the years to come!
