Trick-or-Treat

Look at these adorable toddlers in our playgroup class riding the balance bicycles! The activity aims to familiarise the children with the concepts of balance, motion, coordination and steering.

Well done, kiddos! 👏🏼

Balance bicycles are one of the best tools for helping children develop their gross motor skills as well as develop their core muscle strength and endurance. Learning balance and coordination is important for injury prevention, self-regulation, and developing a foundation for future development of fine motor skills.

Kindy 1: For their Connectors @ Work lesson, the children focused on the topic: Life in a Tropical Rainforests and were introduced to the various flora and fauna that lived in the respective ecosystem as well as their diets and the layers of a tropical rainforest and the part it plays in keeping the respective ecosystem healthy.

The children participated in a cookery session: Layers of a Rainforest Parfait where they were split into groups and encouraged to create their own parfaits, layer by layer, with the respective ingredients.

The children were also encouraged to recall and share the names of the respective layers when creating the parfaits and were able to associate the layering of the parfait to the lesson itself.

✨LITTLE ORATORS✨
A show and tell based activity where children‘s ability to speak and present unfolds.

Nursery Class: The children prepared for their first ever little orators experience, themed creepy crawlies, with their parents! They decided on the topic of presentation and subsequently worked on its elaboration with their parents. As per every first experience, some were nervous, but ultimately everyone did an amazing job. Really glad to see the children giving it their all for the presentation and thats what matters most. Good job kiddos! ;)

✨ FIRST STEPS TIMES ✨
It is a daily activity where Kindy 2 children take the role of a news anchor for a day.

News time is one of the most important parts of children’s early learning. Children need to learn from an early age that they have something worth sharing and other people have something worth listening to.

The earlier they start, the more skills they will learn and the more confident they will be to talk and listen when they are older.

Let’s help our children learn these essential communication skills and keep track on what’s happening around them.

Creative Writing with Picture Prompts
The children were asked to take a look at the picture and write a story inspired in them by the image.

Picture writing prompts allow children to ponder on the image and come up with the story that they think works best with the picture they have been given.

By writing stories, children will have the opportunity to develop their spelling, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and handwriting. It's a fun way for children to explore their interests and work on essential literacy skills at the same time.
