Butter... or blubber?

In another wild science experiment, our little Explorers find out how polar bears keep warm by enclosing their hands in a bag of polar bear blubber (actually it's butter. I think).

Safe to say, they found a way to keep themselves warm if no other outer coverings are found. ๐Ÿคฃ

You've picked a great Chinese class. Now what happens at home?

We asked our Chinese enrichment teacher what actually moves the needle in language absorption, and it wasn't more memorisation.

Three to six years old is the golden period for absorbing language. That's why our classes lean on speech and drama instead of flashcards. It gets kids comfortable enough to just speak, the same way they picked up their first language.
If Mandarin already exists at home, even from one grandparent or sibling, keep that person speaking it consistently. That one consistent voice does more than an extra hour of tuition.

If nobody at home speaks Chinese, flip the script. Ask "what did you learn in Chinese class today?" Ask "how do you say this in Chinese?" Ask ""can you teach me?" Let your child be the teacher for five minutes. It works better than a tutor.

None of this needs a weekend booked out. It needs a five-minute habit, most days.

If that's the kind of class you're looking for, come see one for yourself.

Hello on a Saturday morning! Your kids have to go to enrichment class. You're asking yourself: Do I really need to wake up at 8am today?

You don't.

(Turn on auto translate via your profile if it helps you watch the video ๐Ÿ‘)

At Oxford Explorers, we built our enrichment into the school day: Chinese speech and drama, swimming, everything. Your child learns a life skill during school hours. You get your weekends back for what actually matters: family time.

ๅ…‹ๅญœ่€ๅธˆunderstood the assignment - she doesn't just teach; she designs each lesson so your child learns at their own pace. No performance pressure. No weekend logistics. She also believes "What you learn through joy, you never forget."

It is so easy to get caught up in the daily morning rush, but when we zoom out, the privileges we have in Singapore are hard to find elsewhere.

As parents in Singapore, we have the absolute luxury of choice: the freedom to choose a pedagogy that aligns with our child and our values. We get to choose character-building outdoor play over stamina-building handwriting drills, knowing that whichever path we take, our children will grow up safely."

Our morning school runs doesn't require us to trek a hill - whether you live a quick 5-minute walk away in Serangoon or you commute from Woodleigh or Bidadari, distance is rarely a dealbreaker. We have safe roads, reliable school bus drivers, and a world-class infrastructure that makes choosing the right preschool (even if it isn't "downstairs our block") completely doable.

But the best part of Singapore is beyond smooth roads. Itโ€™s our people. Itโ€™s our teachers who wipe scraped knees, our educators who protect childhood, and us parents who actively step up to build a community to belong to. That kampung spirit is alive and well in our neighborhood village.

Today and everyday, we proudly wave our flag and say "Majulah! Singapura!".
Happy National Day from all of us at Oxford Explorers! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค

โœจ Our little Explorers FLEXED last FUNtastic Friday! โœจ

From jumping to crawling, our little gymnasts nailed every challenge with ease, even better than their teachers! ๐Ÿ˜œ

This Rope Maze obstacle course is not just a fun way to spend a Friday morning, our teachers built it so that our children train their core muscles and strengthen their resilience to tackle whatever comes their way.

Cheer on our little Explorers in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡

We don't believe that a manufactured 60-second video with trendy background music can show you what our school stands for, so follow us to see the Oxford Explorers experience.

Hi! We are a preschool in Singapore, serving Bishan, AMK, TPY and Serangoon area.

WE built Oxford Explorers so the hard work of raising Future Leaders happens Monday through Friday - phonics, Mandarin immersion, gross motor skills, and swimming - and your weekends stay completely yours.

๐Ÿธ Ribbit ribbit... what does the frog say?! ๐Ÿธ

Mr. and Mrs. Frog were absolutely delighted to be visited by our little Explorers and DEVASTATED to see them leave.

This is not your usual science lesson - our little Explorers visited the Jurong Frog Farm and learnt all about how a frog develops and even getting hands-on by holding them! Most importantly, they learn about wildlife conservation and find out how climate change is affecting our little frog friends.

Sounds like some core memories were unlocked today! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿธ

Letโ€™s be real. Trying to hide technology from our kids today feels a bit like trying to stop the rain. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Our little ones are growing up in a tech-enabled future, and there is no escaping it. But instead of surrendering to endless tablet time and mindless swiping, we believe in giving them technology they can actually touch.

At our recent playdate hosted at Bishan Community Center's Skylounge, we brought out the 3D printers! Tangible technology like this does so much more than just entertain. Watching a 3D printer in action sparks conversations about physics "What happens if we start building with the roof first?", logic "Isn't it a good thing we cannot print a dinosaur?", creativity "how can we print a large elephant?", and real-world problem-solving. Itโ€™s all about future-proofing our children while protecting the hands-on magic of childhood. ๐Ÿฆฆ๐ŸŽ’

A massive thank you to Bishan CC(tag) for letting us use your beautiful Skylounge play area. We absolutely loved the space and are already looking forward to running another playdate with you soon!
