The result may not have been what you hoped for, but you gave it everything you had. That is something to be proud of.

NSG Basketball (C Div Boys) — Into the Semi-Finals!

Our C Division Basketball Boys have been on an absolute tear at this year's National School Games, and we couldn't be prouder of what they've achieved!

The boys kicked off their campaign in League 6, where they dominated the Pool Round with a clean sweep of all 3 games. Their strong showing earned them promotion to League 5 for the second round — and they didn't slow down one bit. Facing tougher competition, they rose to the challenge and won all 3 games once again, booking their place in the Semi-Finals!

6 wins from 6 games. The hunger, the hustle, and the heart these boys have shown throughout this campaign have been nothing short of inspiring. The Semi-Finals are set for Monday, 17 August — let's send them our best wishes and support as they go all the way! 🏀🔥

*Learning Beyond the Classroom: Sustainability through PASSION*

As part of Juying Secondary School’s PASSION Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), our students from the Sustainability PASSION Module recently embarked on two meaningful learning journeys to deepen their understanding of sustainability and its importance in our everyday lives.

At ComCorp, facilitated by staff from Green Nudge, students visited a rooftop urban farm where they learnt how urban farming contributes to food resilience in Singapore. They explored how innovative farming practices can transform underutilised spaces into productive environments to grow vegetables while gaining a greater appreciation of the role individuals and communities can play in building a more sustainable future.

The learning continued at Virogreen where students discovered what happens to electronic waste after it is discarded. Through the visit, they gained insights into the importance of responsible e-waste recycling, resource recovery and the circular economy while learning how proper recycling practices help conserve valuable materials and reduce our environmental impact.

These authentic learning experiences brought sustainability to life beyond what students learn in the classroom. By engaging directly with industry partners, students were able to connect concepts learnt in school with real-world practices and understand how different organisations are contributing towards a greener and more sustainable Singapore.

At Juying Secondary School, we believe that meaningful learning extends beyond textbooks. Through our PASSION module, we strive to provide authentic experiences that nurture curious learners, environmentally responsible citizens and compassionate individuals who are empowered to contribute positively to the community and the world around them.

What do the words of our National Pledge truly mean? 🇸🇬

As part of , our very own Mr Sies Senan reminds us that the National Pledge is much more than a daily recitation. It reflects our shared identity, our hopes for Singapore, and our commitment to building a nation founded on justice, equality, and unity.

In his sharing, Mr Sies also brings us through the history of the National Pledge, from its origins to the meaning behind the gesture we make today with our right fist over our heart. More importantly, he encourages every JYian to understand the words we recite and to live them out through our actions each day.

Humanities Week 2026 transformed Juying into a journey through time, culture and the real world!

From exploring a heritage showcase featuring a classic motorcycle and iconic artefacts, to solving a school-wide teacher disappearance mystery, and travelling through history in an interactive assembly, students experienced the Humanities in exciting new ways.

A key highlight was our 3rd Juying Humanities Forum, where Mr Fendrick Koh (Titanium Law Chambers), Ms Christine Chiam (Focus Law Asia), and Ms Ethel Tan (Edith Patisserie) shared how communication, critical thinking, empathy and perspective-taking have shaped their careers. Their stories showed our students that the skills developed through the Humanities are not just for the classroom, they are skills for life.

More than a celebration, Humanities Week sparked curiosity, broadened perspectives, and inspired our JYians to see the world through new lenses.
