Lebih dari 10 tahun lalu saya menerima email dari Mbak Ratri. Ketika menerima surat itu, saya langsung berpikir: impossible… I was living abroad in California with a toddler. Namun dengan encouragement dan motivasi dari tim Erlangga…Mbak Ratri, Mbak Fikri, Mbak Indri, dll. seri lahir, berlanjut dengan seri . Satu dekade berlalu, dan saya berkesempatan berkenalan dengan ribuan IMC Moms dan kids yang sekarang sudah berusia 12-16 tahun 🥹🙏🏻 Di setiap book launch, selalu ada IMC Moms yang datang dari pulau-pulau lain dan saling menyemangati 🥹

Tahun-tahun pandemi merupakan masa yang berat (there was a lot of adulting happening internally, etc.). There were months, even years, when I didn’t feel like updating my website, platforms, dan tidak memiliki inspirasi untuk menulis… I couldn’t pour from an empty cup… right?

I am very grateful for the chance to continue these series. Thank you for trusting me—now it’s my turn to write and share with all my heart ❤️

Memulai tahun baru dengan beberapa minggu ke depan we will self-reflect .. looking inward as parents and educators…

There’s a moment I’ll never forget.
My child was watching me..not when I was teaching, not when I was guiding..but when I thought no one was looking.
When I was just...being.
And it struck me: this is what they’re learning from. Not my carefully chosen words. Not my Pinterest-Montessori worthy activities. But the unfiltered truth of WHO I am when I’m simply existing.

Montessori spoke beautifully about the “prepared environment” ..spaces that are ordered, purposeful, and designed to meet the child’s developmental needs.

But she also spoke about something we discuss far less: the prepared adult.

Lanjut bahas plane kedua Montessori… dimana tahap ini sangat menarik karena disinilah hal yang anak-anak “absorb” di plane sebelumnya mulai dapat mereka “connect-the-dots” dalam realita kehidupan sehari-hari.

Anak-anak semakin curious tentang siapa diri mereka dalam suatu bagian kelompok yang lebih besar… berbagai kegiatan yang sebelumnya solitaire sekarang mereka mulai looking forward to be in a small group… kalau meurut saya pribadi yang telat melewati Plane 2 untuk anak pertama saya… fase ini sangat krusial…. Plane 1 tentu amat krusial namun plane 2 memiliki aspek berbeda… yang menurut saya sama-sama krusial… di fase ini lah C1 membentangkan interest2 nya ke segala arah … ia ingin mencoba hal-hal yang baru 😃

Let’s discuss about 2nd Plane of Development Montessori.
Kalau sebelumnnya kebanyakan saya bahas pendekatan Montessori dari usia 0-6 tahun ( refer to : Buku Montessori di Rumah - Bayi, Montessori di Rumah - Keterampilan Hidup , Montessori di Rumah - Matematika bersama ) kali ini let’s start to understand better about 2nd Plane of Development Montessori…. Kalau yang tadinya di fase 1 kita kenal dengan “absorbent mind” di fase 2 kita berkenalan dengan “the Great Transformation” dimana perubahan dan perkembangan banyak terjadi di usia 6-12 tahun dimana ini jadi fondasi selanjutnya untuk ke plane 3 dan 4 🥰

Selain Montessori teaching untuk 0-3, anak usia dini, saya sempat mengambil diploma teaching juga untuk fase elementary (Sekolah Dasar) 6-12 tahun… semuanya dilakukan just because it is my passion… and my aspiration to be able to suppport our children sesuai dengan tahap perkembanganya… tentunya dalam hidup there is always ups and downs dimana tidak selalu saya sempat sharing di platform ini dah IndonesiaMontessori.com (thank you for 65000++ loyal subscribers)…. Life happened 😘 but my deepest belief is to have extreme ownership to whatever happened 😘 it is My personal belief that whatever happened for a better reason… so I won’t focus on the energy that do not bring peace & positive connections… this very aligned with Montessori approach :

Woohooo… telah terbit seri terbaru bersama salah satu cara terbaik yang truly I believe seperti kampanye saya 10++ tahun lalu adalah membacakan nyaring (read aloud) … konsep yang kompleks dibuat menjadi menarik dan lebih mudah di cerna untuk anak-anak khususnya pada usia TK dan SD. Why? Karena ketika anak pernah familiariasi dengan “kata” “istilah” “konsep” tertentu ketika usia mereka masi muda…. Ketika pada waktunya mereka belajar konsep tersebut di sekolah…. Itu bukan menjadi pertama kalinya bagi mereka… hal ini membedakan jelas anak yang dapat mencerna bahan pelajaran vs yang baru pernah mendengar pertama kalinya. Sesuai dengan pendekatan Dr.Montessori kita perlu mengenalkan konsep, kata dan konten yang tidak “watered down” 😘

Hello December! Bulan terakhir di tahun 2025 yang super cepat ini… ga kerasa refelcting back I had been sharing disini…(at my own paces) sejak 2014? seriously 🤭 selama sharing di sini belum pernah sekalipun kenalan sama mommies yang aneh-aneh dan dramas (wasting my time). Each of IMC Mom di sini dan IndonesiaMontessori.com (lebih dari 60.000 subscribers) setiap kukenal lebih lanjut… each of them sangat menginspirasi diriku sendiri… ada yang dengan jaga kesehatan, olah raga, sekolah lagi sambil punya anak, merantau, dokter, doktor, lawyer, memilih stay home, dll berbeda-beda namun our hearts are united by our love and care to our own children…. (Decisions can be different and it is always up to us real adults… but that does not mean we can not be open-minded to hear other’s POV sih). Sempat ga sempat posting during certain years just because life happened…plus my impression was the IG I knew back then was totally beda deh… ga tau auranya or gimana…namun demikian… like I said earlier we can always set boundaries + attract like minded people aja ya 😘
