✨The High School Affiliated to Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Visit to Kranji Secondary School✨

On 5th and 7th August 2026, Kranji Secondary School was delighted to host staff and students from The High School Affiliated to Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, China, for an enriching two-day Learning Exchange Programme!

The visit commenced on Day 1 with a warm arrival and morning assembly presentation in the hall, where our guests shared insights into their school culture, curriculum and campus life. This was followed by a welcome address from our school leaders, an exchange of souvenirs and an engaging sharing session on the Kranji experience.
During recess, the visiting students headed to the canteen with their KSS buddies to experience local campus dining culture. This was followed by classroom immersion learning alongside their buddies and a guided campus tour.
In the afternoon, our guests embarked on the Pang Sua Water Sustainability Trail at Pang Sua Pond before joining our Kranjians for hands-on Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) experiences.

On Day 2, our guests joined us in celebrating Singapore's National Day Celebrations in the hall, soaking in the vibrant festive spirit together before sharing a heartfelt farewell.

Hosting our friends from Xi’an provided invaluable opportunities to broaden our global horizons, cultivate mutual understanding, and build lasting friendships!

National Day Celebrations - National Day Concert

For the final part of our National Day celebrations on 7 August (Friday), the morning came to a rousing close with our National Day Concert — the last highlight after the Observance Ceremony and VIA Carnival. 🇸🇬

Through sand art, dance, drama and songs, our Visual and Performing Arts students gave this year’s theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, their own creative and inspiring takes! ✨

A huge shoutout to Kranji Art Club KAC 🎨 , Kranji Modern Dance Club Kranji Modern Dance Club™ , Kranji Chinese Dance Society kranji chinese dance society 🎐 , English Language Drama and Debate Society Kranji Secondary ELDDS , and Kranji Choir Kranji Choir for their incredible performances. Your talent, hard work and courage truly shone through. 🌟

And the most heartwarming moment came at the very end – as Kranjians stood shoulder to shoulder, arms around one another, singing their hearts out to our National Day songs. There was so much pride, joy and togetherness in the air as we came together as one Kranjian family.

The National Day concert was truly a celebration of our students’ talent, hard work, creativity and courage – and a beautiful reminder that when we stand together, there’s no limit to how far we can go. A heartfelt thank you to all our performers, staff and Kranjians who made this morning so memorable! Go Beyond! 🇸🇬✨

National Day Celebrations - VIA Carnival

For the 2nd part of our National Day celebrations on 7 August (Friday), our school came together for a meaningful VIA Carnival that brought the spirit of this year’s National Day theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, to life. 🇸🇬

Our Sec 1 students participated in the Disability Awareness Active Citizens Module, where our Inclusion Ambassadors shared about different disabilities, lived experiences and the importance of building a more inclusive and empathetic society. Our Sec 2 students took part in an Awareness Talk by the Limbang Youth Network, exploring the different ways young people can contribute meaningfully to society. 🤝🌱

Meanwhile, our Secondary 3 to 5 students explored the carnival booths and took part in a wide range of activities alongside our invited guests, including elderly from the Limbang Active Ageing Centre, as well as students and teachers from our partner school in Xi’an. The booths were manned by our Secondary 4 students, the Student Council, Peer Support Leaders, Sports CCAs and student-initiated groups, who shared the Values-In-Action projects they had worked on over the past year. 🌟🌏

More than just a celebration, the VIA Carnival reminded us that the spirit of National Day is also about caring for those around us and playing our part in building a more inclusive Singapore. A heartfelt thank you to all our students, staff, partners and guests who made the celebration such a meaningful one! Go Beyond! 🇸🇬✨

National Day celebrations — National Day Observance Ceremony

As part of our National Day celebrations, our school came together for a National Day Observance Ceremony — a moment of pride and unity for our whole school community. Led by our three Uniformed Groups — NCC, NPCC and SJB — the parade was a stunning display of discipline and precision, accompanied by our Kranji Symphonic Band whose music brought the ceremony to life. 🇸🇬

A special highlight of this year’s ceremony was the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the National Pledge. Mdm Zuraidah led our school in the pledge-taking and moved us all with her heartfelt reflection, sharing her personal memory of being a student during the historic moment in 1966, when Singapore’s schools recited the pledge for the very first time. Her words reminded us that the pledge is not just words, but a living commitment that has bound generations of Singaporeans together. ✨

Behind the scenes, our Media Production Team (MPT) ensured the ceremony ran seamlessly, providing technical support and capturing every meaningful moment.

A heartfelt thank you to all our students and staff who made this ceremony such a meaningful one. Here’s to 61 years of Singapore, and to the values we continue to carry forward. 🇸🇬✨

🔅An Afternoon with a Poet🖌

On Thursday, 23 July, Kranji Secondary School was honoured to host Laura Jane Lee—an acclaimed Hong Kong-born, Singapore-based poet and winner of the Sir Roger Newdigate Prize! Her work has been featured in The Straits Times and Poetry London.

She treated our Upper Sec Lit students to a firsthand look at her poetry, diving deep into the beauty of words through a guided close reading session. The afternoon wrapped up with an enthusiastic Q&A, where our students brought some serious questions about what it takes to be a writer in Singapore today.

We are heartened to see that the students enjoyed the session and hope that there would be greater interest and engagement for more of such events in the future!

The school came alive with vibrant ethnic attire, delicious food, creative activities and plenty of laughter. Our students also enjoyed fun games about Singapore while learning more about the cultures and traditions that make our community so special! 🎉

A big thank you to our Parents Support Group (PSG) for supporting the food and activity booths, our Student Council for organising the engaging games, and our Media Production Team (MPT) for setting up the photo booth and capturing the day’s joyful moments. 🤝📸
