His passing is a big loss to the Muslim community.

May Allah taala bless him, accept all his ibadah and forgive his sins. May Allah make his grave as one of the gardens of the paradise. Amiin, Allahumma Amiin.

Empowering Individuals on Their Spiritual Journey: A story of Hearts Toward Qibla

Since our humble beginnings before we embark on social media, we have encountered a myriad of personal requests, each one unique in its own right. Some are straightforward, like those from vigilant parents seeking personalised basic Islamic education for their children. Others are fulfilling, stemming from adults who have been graced with sudden enlightenment on their spiritual journey.

However, it is the challenging tales that linger in our hearts - those where assistance is sought for families who resist guidance. This is one such story, a testament to the complexities and triumphs we encounter in our mission.

It was before the onset of the Covid19 pandemic. From the start, it was clear this journey wouldn't be easy for this one sister. Along the way, I suggested seeking guidance at a nearby mosque, she hesitated. Instead, she longed for an Ustazah to teach her family solat at home. She vividly expressed her yearning to strengthen her faith and draw closer to Allah. Regret filled her for neglecting her obligations. Seeing her family neglecting solat left her disheartened.

We found a suitable Ustazah, but soon she worried about her family's acceptance. Her children and spouse resisted, saying true learning must come from the heart. Their words left her confused and broken-hearted, unsure of the next step. She held onto hope for guidance for her whole family.

In response to her plight, I shared words of comfort, reminding her of Allah's love, compassion, and understanding of our struggles. Only He can guide the hearts He chooses.

I suggested a course of action: she should learn to pray alone first. Sometimes the path to God must be walked alone. I advised her to visit the Ustazah alone first, practice praying at Ustazah's home. Change herself first, forgive all, and leave the rest to Allah.

I reassured her not to be sad, to pray and work hard, and to trust in Allah. I offered to make arrangements if she accepted the proposal.

Reflecting on the situation, I acknowledged my limitations in helping everyone but committed to aiding one family at a time, when their hearts are ready.

There were times when I felt tempted to cease operating this initiative due to heavy personal and professional commitments. However, when I witness the outcome of a whole family praying together, I am encouraged to continue as long as Allah permits.

Sometimes I justify my thoughts by saying there are so many Islamic centers and mosques already; one less will not make a difference. Despite this, the impact of helping even one family find their path to Allah is immeasurable, and that thought keeps me going.

I find strength in seeing families come together in prayer and push forward with renewed purpose. Each time I see the positive impact on a family's spiritual journey, I am reminded of the importance of this work and the blessings it brings. InsyaAllah.

The diverse struggles faced by many individuals, some unable to recite Al-Fatihah or even remember how to say the Shahadah, underscore the importance of our efforts, as a community, in providing support and guidance.

To all those suffering from sadness or depression, know that it isn’t your fault.
It isn’t because u’re weak.
It isn’t because u’re just not grateful enough.
It isn’t because u’re just not religious enough.
It isn’t because u don’t have enough faith.
It isn’t because God is angry with u.
To all the well-meaning pple who tell u this, just smile. And know deep in your heart that the tests of God come in different forms to different people.
And know that, by the help of God, every test can become a tool to get closer to Him.
And that, verily, with hardship come ease.
And like all things of this world–this too shall pass.

Five years ago today. MasyaAllah!

Subhanallah! Finally a proper logo for Hearts Toward Qibla.

I would like to thank sis Han Hus for her time and effort in manifesting what I deem as meaningful and symbolic of the mission undertaken by the Hearts Toward Qibla team. Her creativity and effort in taking the time to understand what I am doing; making time after working hours and during weekends to produce drafts; her patience in listening to my concepts and philosophies about this whole thing I am championing is commendable. Truly appreciate this sis!

This logo symbolizes connecting (the lines) people’s hearts toward THE ONE. The Kaabah symbolizes our direction 5 times a day (the Qibla), and that’s strategically placed right inside of the heart. The colour green associates our mission as an effort towards HIS Jannah, InsyaAllah!

This logo, which looks so beautiful to me, is also the result of many hours of discussions and drafts with my 2 beautiful daughters, who are so supportive of me running HTQ. I am also grateful to my husband, who is my rock, my anchor, my peace and light in challenging times.

I had actually set out to have a proper logo more than a year ago. However, due to my day job which is also my passion, it took this long to produce one. On top of heading my department which consists of 5 major portfolios, I am also the advisor for several committees. In addition, I am the secretariat of the board of directors. As my work ethics do not allow me to be just a figure during photo takings and merely putting my name on paper or trophies, I do my best to be deeply involved and present in all of my commitments. This, on top of balancing family time.

As such, I seek your kind understanding if my reply to your pms, dms and emails, is not within 24 hours. Your requests are important to me, and I will treat each one like my biggest amanah insyaAllah.

Another important factor that kept me going is the kind words and doas that I ve been receiving from some of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Fulfilling one mission makes me happy and the satisfaction is beyond monetary rewards.

I aspire to expand this home-based Islamic learning services to the deaf and blind. I have visualised the groundwork and it is a MasyaAllah level. I doa another established organization with better resources will champion this soon, to cover this long-forgotten gap for our community InsyaAllah. May Allah swt ease our affairs and undertakings.

Please doa for me, my Asatizahs and my family to be given strength, patience, health, and perseverance to continue with this mission: To build little Mosques within the hearts of the people whom we touch, with Hikmah, understanding, and patience. And to enable basic Islamic knowledge to enter into the homes that call for it.

And now, I need to make the time to update this beautiful logo onto all our printed documents. InsyaAllah, one little thing at a time.

Imagine a scenario where we are facing sadness or difficult trials. In such times, receiving encouraging words from counselors, workplace leaders, or family members can bring us a sense of calm. Their support creates a positive environment around us.

Now, picture a different scenario where it is not humans but angels who surround us, offering words of wisdom and motivation during life's challenges. When our faith in Allah guides our actions, we can believe that the angels are indeed there to uplift us. This belief is beautifully described in the Quranic verse below:

"Indeed, those who have said, 'Our Lord is Allah' and then remained steadfast - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], 'Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.'" - The Quran 41:30
