😎𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐏𝐒𝐋𝐄 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐: 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧?! 🥳
After the surprisingly familiar topic on Day 1, parents of children taking the examination on Day 2 were understandably nervous.

We heard variations of the same prediction.
“𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭!”
Some parents were crossing their fingers.
Maybe the difficulty would suddenly spike and an obscure topic was coming.
Then Day 2 arrived.

𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲… 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧?!
To everyone's surprise, students received another highly accessible theme.
Transport is a common topic in Oral guidebooks and has appeared in school assessments (WA) and even recent preliminary examinations. Most students would therefore have encountered similar questions during their preparation.
We were over the moon to hear many of our P6 students sharing their happiness and relief after the PSLE examination.

However, as we have discussed in our Day 1 article:
An easy topic does not necessarily mean easy marks.

Day 2 presented a rather interesting paradox.

“That was so easy!”
No wonder we heard this comment from so many students and parents after the 2026 PSLE English Oral Day 1 examination.

The theme was certainly familiar. Walk into Popular Bookstore and you will find oral guidebooks covering similar topics. Our own Writers’ Guild PSLE Oral Package, prepared exclusively for our students, covers the theme too.

It is easy to see why many students emerged from school feeling confident. The questions are relevant to a 12-year-old's life, so most students would have no shortage of personal experiences to draw from.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞.

Yet, at Writers’ Guild, we have seen time and time again that 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 can happen when students are equipped with 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬, an 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐠𝐲.

Each time our Warriors step into our classrooms, they 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭 by mastering our techniques, 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 by applying them and 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 with every composition they write.

We often speak about this journey, but nothing captures it better than the words of the parents who witness the transformation at home.
