The past few days saw incessant rain hammering Singapore for days. But heavens shone on us as the skies cleared on Friday, allowing us to embark on our adventure to one of the last few pristine forests right in the middle of our urban concrete jungle, on the Saturday morning of 22 Mar 2025.
20 families with at least one child currently in SST, with a total of 58 hikers, both experienced and inexperienced, braved the drizzling rain in the forests, beginning with some history lessons on the old Malayan Railways where the tracks to the Jurong port runs across Clementi Forest and Maju Forest.
It took everyone out of their comfort zone, getting their hand and legs, eyes and ears, fully immersed in the beauty of nature and its challenging terrain. It was definitely a time when the kids could not and would not touch their electronic device (and ahemโ€ฆ the adults too !).
Many participants responded with a resounding yes as a testament to the event as an enjoyable one, with some hungry for more (further, longer, and even more challenging). It was certainly a trek that they could not do on their own, and PforSST created this opportunity to do so.

For the past two months, a dedicated group of PforSST parents trained tirelessly, rain or shine, with a bold goal: to clock 100km collectively within 13.5 hours at this yearโ€™s ๐‘๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐‹๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž (๐‘๐…๐‹) charity event. Organized by ๐’๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ (๐’๐‚๐’) and held at the National Stadium, RFL raises funds to support cancer patients and survivors, celebrating their resilience and strength.โฃ

As the humidity thickened and fatigue set in, they kept each otherโ€™s spirits high, cheering on teammates and pushing beyond their limits.โฃ

๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐€๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐! After smashing through the 100km mark, Team PforSST didnโ€™t stop. They kept going, clocking an ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ ๐ฅ๐š๐ฉ๐ฌ (๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ๐ค๐ฆ) ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ๐ฌ! Several parents ran multiple shifts, and one even took on the โ€˜fight back challengeโ€™ to raise additional funds. A special shoutout also goes to our talented PforSST alumni who contributed through their creative crochet/'amiguri' fundraising efforts.โฃ

We smashed it!

Weโ€™ve outdone ourselves again - 152km this year, surpassing last yearโ€™s 143km and smashing our 100km target by over 50%!
