Every year, we meet students who are putting in the effort, but their results don’t improve.
Over time, their confidence drops.
Some even start to think they’re just not good at the subject.
In most cases, the issue isn’t ability.
It’s gaps from earlier topics.
When the foundation is fixed, understanding improves, mistakes reduce, and confidence starts to come back.
At The Classroom, we focus on rebuilding the basics first — so the progress lasts.
Chem Made Easy
📣Taught over 1000 students.
🏅>85% scored A1, A2, B3 for O Levels.
🥳 Best known for making C Hi! Along the way, I must admit that I surprised even myself.
My name is Jeremy Neo and I founded Chem.Made.Easy in 2009 with only 1 mission in mind - to help students excel in O Level Chemistry. Not only were my students excelling in Chemistry, many of them even overcame their disinterest/dislike for Chemistry and grew to love the subject! Many of my graduates went on to pursue Chemistry in JC or Chemistry related subjects in Poly. If you find yourself str

When lessons kept moving on, he didn’t know which was worse...
Slowing the class down, just keeping quiet.
He chose the latter and stopped asking.

One of my students shared this with me recently. It came up because I asked him how come he didnt seem to recall anything from s3??
He told me that at the start of the year, he tried to ask questions in class...
but the teacher would reply "I just taught, why you dont know?"
And... he never got his questions answered.
So as time went by, he stopped asking. Not because he didn’t care, but because it didnt get him anywhere...
And also because it made him feel dumb.
He then shared that because he didn’t want to worry his parents, he kept sweeping it under the carpet.
He thought he just needed to try harder.
Conversations like these always make me pause. They also make me wonder how often this happens quietly..
Part 2, why we use crystallisation to prepare salts, instead of heating to dryness.
(Other reasons include thermal decomposition which we do not cover here)
Many students ask:
Evaporation or crystallisation?
This video shows why we do NOT heat to dryness.
🔹 Heating to dryness → all water removed → white anhydrous solid
🔹 Evaporation → some water removed → crystals form on cooling
Zinc is added to copper(II) sulfate solution.
Zinc displaces copper from the solution.
The blue solution turns colourless as zinc sulfate is formed.
Reddish brown copper metal is produced as a solid.

If Chemistry didn’t go as planned — you’re not alone. Many Sec 3 students struggle this year because the jump from lower sec science to pure chem is steep.
The good news? There’s still time to turn things around before Sec 4 begins.
From mid-October to November, we’re running a 6-week Head Start Programme designed to:
âś… Re-learn and strengthen key Sec 3 foundations (Moles, Acids & Bases, Chemical Bonding, etc.)
âś… Get a head start on new Sec 4 topics to make next year easier
âś… Build confidence and momentum before O-Level year officially begins
New timings for Oct 2025 and AY2026 now open!
