Never underestimate the power of small wins.
Diana Octavia, Head of Customer Experience at Mekari, shares with us that every win counts — no matter how small it is, and as people leaders, we need to celebrate and remind our team members of the impact of their hard work.
By recognising and acknowledging our team members' efforts, we are helping them to build confidence and momentum towards achieving larger goals.
This can inspire them to continue striving for success, even in the face of setbacks or obstacles.

Being busy isn't the same as being productive — it's like running on a treadmill versus running to a destination.
Just because we're running doesn't mean we're going somewhere. A lot of us are constantly busy, yet we indeed are not producing anything meaningful.
So if we want to be productive and make real progress, take a step back and take a look at the bigger picture. Cut out the unnecessary tasks and focus on what really matters. If we’re not sure, it never hurts to ask for help.
After all, working smarter, not harder, is the key to real progress. So let’s not just spin our wheels; make sure we’re running to a destination.

As an HR leader who made it to the C-Suite, Prasetya Yudaputra knows how important it is for HR leaders to be proactive, especially during times of crisis.
Rather than taking a backseat and doing what's expected, HR leaders need to reset their mindset and take on a captain's role to work alongside the management team and plan for the company's future.
This will help ensure the right headcounts and talents are in place for sustainable growth, and help avoid tough situations like layoffs whenever possible.

For HR leaders, it's never been more challenging and emotionally difficult than in times of mass layoffs and recession, Agoes Santosa from Systemiq Ltd. and previously Zenius, reckons.
We must find a way to balance our core values with the practical realities of today's business environment. We must make difficult decisions and balance the needs of the organisation and employees. It’s not easy, and at times, it puts us on a morale crisis.

Leadership isn't just about what we say — it's about how we say it, and how we demonstrate it.
It's an ongoing dialogue — a dialogue that builds trust, relationships, and enables learning and change.
As leaders, it's our job to set the tone and create an environment where conversation is not only encouraged, but expected.
When we create a culture where people can openly communicate and collaborate, we are rewarded with stronger, more connected teams.
That's how we become leaders worth following — through conversations that truly have the power to move organisations forward.

Leadership teams face difficult decisions every day, and it’s more important than ever that they have the right training and resources to handle challenging times, especially mass layoffs and cost-cutting.
Drawing from her own experience in navigating such complex situations, Shefali Sharma, Head of People and Culture at Toku, strongly advocates providing coaching and guidance to leadership teams, and emphasising the importance of making decisions with empathy and compassion. This approach ensures that necessary support is provided to those affected, and uplifts the overall morale within the organisation.

Leadership is a daily practice.
Just like anything we do every day, it's something we can get better at.
The more we consider the lives of others and work on thinking about their needs and how they're feeling, the more natural it becomes to consider them in our daily decisions.
The beauty of becoming a better leader is that our teams become stronger and our organisations more resilient.
