To wrap up our lesson on "Patriotism and being faithful to one's duties", we headed to the National Museum of Singapore last weekend! The students learnt more about Singapore's history and what it took for us to get here today. We highlighted that it was Singaporeans' collective effort and everyone performing their duties faithfully that allowed us to become who we are today, and reminded them that they too have their own duties to perform, whether as a student in school, as a sibling at home, or as a filial child to their parents.
我们上周末参观了新加坡国家博物馆！孩子们了解了新加坡的历史，并体会国家发展过程中，先贤们的努力。这趟出游也为这个学期学习的「爱国忠事」作了总结。
孩子们了解了新加坡今日的成就，是先贤们当初的各司其职；所以我们也要在生活中扮演好自己的角色，负起责任。比如在学校认真学习、在家照顾兄弟姐妹和孝顺父母等等。

学习“爱国忠事”的目标是要学生们懂得怎么效忠于国家，以及提升自我责任感。俗话说“先有国，才有家”。如果大家都尽忠职守，就能够为国家进尽一份力。
"Patriotism and being faithful to one's duties": For us to have a home, we must first have a country. The students learnt that when each of us perform our duties faithfully, we are also contributing to the progress of the country. They also learnt how to strengthen their sense of responsibility and duties in their daily lives.
