SYFC Anniversary Day, 54 years of youth and aviation.
The Singapore Youth Flying Club turns 54 on 1 December. We’re not marking it with cake, but by doing what we do best — flying. Most days here follow the same rhythm: study, brief, fly, debrief, then prepare for the next sortie.
That is what we’re celebrating: that there is a place in Singapore where Junior College and Polytechnic students can spend a Saturday in a real cockpit, learning how flying is done — safely, properly, and with people who care about their growth.
If your child or students are thinking about becoming a pilot, you can learn more about SYFC's programmes on our website at syfc.sg.

Future pilots in the making ✈️
On Friday (14 Nov), 15 students successfully completed the SYFC Workup & Introduction to Flying Training (SWIFT) Course, a special bridging programme designed for Secondary School youths from our SYFC CCA programme, as well as our partners from NCC(Air) and the Singapore Scouts Association (Air Scouts).
Throughout the course, participants learned about basic aircraft systems, performed external checks on the DA40, and practised fundamental flying manoeuvres with our DA40 flight simulator.
They may still be in Secondary School, but this is already a big first step towards real flying. When they turn 16 and move on to Junior College or Polytechnic, they’ll be eligible to apply for our flying course at the SYFC — and, one day, fly the Diamond DA40 for real.
You can take that first step too. If you’re a student who loves aviation (or a parent/teacher who knows one), visit syfc.sg to learn how our CCA programmes and flying course can help you start your flying journey.

Last Saturday (8 Nov), the SYFC collaborated with Women in Aviation (Singapore Chapter) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force to host students at SYFC.
Participants flew on our flight simulator, toured our Heritage Gallery, and saw our Diamond DA40 aircraft up close.
Here’s to more joint efforts that open doors for young aviators.

SYFC collaborated with Women in Aviation (Singapore Chapter) and the RSAF to host a group of students for a visit to SYFC. The students had a chance to meet CPT Hannah Teo, a Weapon Systems Officer (Fighter), who shared her Air Force story. They also had the opportunity to try out SYFC’s flight simulator. We look forward to more collaborations in the future to inspire students to start their own flying journey.
