We are currently in Davao City, Philippines to visit with parents -in-law while on a mid semester break. Thanks for all your continued prayers even as we reconnect with friends and family whom the good Lord has allowed for us to relate through the years. The challenges ahead both professionally and personally are quite tremendous. However, we remain grateful that the battle is not ours and our journey remains to trust! Shalom everyone 🙏

A group of family/friends who have actively committed to pray with and for us while we serve in Singapore.
We have returned to SG from a few trips overseas. The second week of May I did an emergency trip to Brooke's Point, Palawan to participate in the funeral of my older brother Dan who succumbed to bilateral cerebral infarction. After returning to SG briefly my family and I including our daughter, Tina Rachel, went to Davao City to see her grandparents and bond with her uncles, aunts, and cousins. There I spoke twice at the Independent Baptist Church. After returning briefly to SG we went to Krabi,Thailand where I spoke at the Peace Church Aonang. We also did a lot of novel activities to include an elephant ride. Then we went to El Sanctuary, Malacca, MY to speak at the Youth Retreat of the Woodlands Evangelical Free Church, SG. The theme had to do with Disciplines in Spiritual Walk. In all of our trips, Tina Rachel had opportunities to sing. We are thankful to all of you who keep on supporting us in prayer even as we continue to serve here in the School of Counseling at Singapore Bible College. In a few days, Tina Rachel will return to Dallas to resume her work at Baylor Hospital. Please pray for a pleasant trip back for her. Thanks and shalom to all!
We thank the Lord for a safe return from Dallas to Singapore last January 6 very early morning. The College started the semester with a combined chapel service of the four schools. This week classes are in full swing with administrative responsibilities accompanying the busyness. Chelly and I manage to resume our early morning walks at the Botanic Garden every other day. I think we are adjusting now from the jet lag. We continue to covet your prayers for sustained good health, wisdom, and inner strength as we face the usual challenges of the academic life. Thanks!
Prayer partners: please pray for Pastor Mark Caridad and daughter Yazmin who are both in surgery at this time!
Hello everyone. We wish to request for prayer as we travel to Krabi,Thailand to facilitate seminars on Marriage Preparation, Parenting of Children and speak at the worship service of the church at AoNang this coming October 23-25. Thanks for your continued prayer partnership with us.
Thanks to those of you who prayed and responded to the need. The AC unit was finally installed today. This is a great help now that the humidity here in SG has become quite intense. God bless everyone!
We have returned from a 2.5 day faculty retreat. In a week classes will be in full-swing. The weather is officially hot and humid here in SG. We decided to have an AC installed in our living room. Hope this makes it more comfy. Thanks for your continued prayers for us.
We have finally returned to SG. The 12- hour seminar-workshop held at Brokenshire was well-attended. There is an invite to return in September. We will keep this in prayer. We also had opportunity to do a short side trip to Manila to attend a training in EMDR. We also saw good friends through the years. Meanwhile, much needed preparation for the incoming school term calls for attention. Thanks for your continued prayers. Shalom.
Chelly and I have arrived here in Davao after returning to SG from Indonesia. I will be facilitating a seminar on Counseling with Integrity at the Brokenshire Hospital, June 12-13, 2015. The host is expecting 250-300 registrants. Please pray for out pouring of strength and wisdom. God bless you all!
Please pray with us as we prepare to go to Batam, Indonesia to speak at a family retreat (29-31 May 2015). This is an Indonesian congregation here in SG of mostly Chinese Christians.
On June 4 we will go to Davao to facilitate a seminar hosted by Brokenshire Hospital. Then we will go to Manila to attend a conference.
We also appreciate your prayer for provision as we consider returning to Texas in November for our year end break.
I wish to make a brief report on what happened so far in our recent trip to SG.
We arrived here very early morning of January 8 after more than 30 hours of travel including an 8 hour lay over in Seoul Korea. I just realized, this has been the longest travel time Chelly and I ever had in our lifetime, one way. Yet, we are grateful for the safe arrival at Changi Aiport. One of our alumni was waiting for us to bring us to the campus. What a blessing.
We started the semester with a campus wide chapel service the following day, January 9. Classes started full swing last Monday, 12 January. I have 64 students in all three classes I am teaching with one group of 8 to supervise weekly and four students for individual supervision. I will also meet twice a month with two groups of therapists for continuing supervision. Needless to say, this promises to be a very busy semester.
Last Thursday, 15 Jan, Chelly and I reported to the Ministry of Manpower to have our approved employment pass registered. The process was smooth and we did not pay any fees. It simply shows the government does not need our money for such government service. We will receive our card in 5 business days. When we do so, we can officially transact business in SG, like open a bank account and purchase a line for our flat to have uninterrupted internet service.
We also received a queen size bed donation from a new Indonesian friend who we met last semester at a church in Bukit Batok area. Very refreshing gesture of Christian generosity and hospitaltiy, indeed.
Today, I facilitated a 6 hour workshop on True Love Waits at the International Baptist Church. It was attended by 19 adolescent and early adult members of the church. The day was capped by a surprise visit from a former student in Baguio who is now serving with her family in Indonesia.
Thanks for your continued prayers for us. We couldn't make it without your continued support. We miss ya'll.
Shalom!
