Last but not the least, let’s welcome our next adjudicator, Ms Gan Xun 🇨🇳

With over 30 years of teaching experience in China and Singapore, Ms. Gan Xun brings a wealth of practical knowledge and international perspective to the judging panel.

Over the years, she has taken on numerous adjudication and judging roles. Notably, she served as an adjudicator for the Top 10 Children Artistic Sprouts Competition in China (1999) and as a jury member for the Accordion and Piano Classification in Sichuan, China. She was also honored to be a judge at the Lina International Music Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia (2006), and the Zhong Sin International Music Competition (2008–2010).

In Singapore, she has contributed as a judge for several prestigious events, including the Cristofori Piano Competition (2008–2014), Singapore Asia Youth Piano Competition (2017 & 2018), Singapore’s Got Talent (2020), the Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition (2021 & 2023), and the Fifth “Amason Award” Pop Piano International Competition (2024), among many others.

Ms. Gan’s dedication and expertise have earned her significant recognition. She received the Excellent Teacher Award at the Lira International Music Festival in Russia and won a Gold Cup at the 35th International Competition for Accordion, Piano, and Organ in France.

Her students have achieved outstanding success in international competitions, including 1st Prize at the 23rd Japan Piara Piano Competition in Hamamatsu, 1st and 2nd Prizes at the Lira International Music Competition in St. Petersburg, and top prizes and Gold Awards at the Singapore Asia Youth Piano Competition and Singapore’s Got Talent.

Beyond teaching, Ms. Gan is deeply committed to music education and cultural exchange. She has served as an instructor for the Culture and Broadcast Bureau of Chengdu, China, and has organized student piano concerts across Beijing, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Singapore.

Let’s welcome our next adjudicator, Mr Darin Varbanov. 🇧🇬

Mr. Darin Varbanov is a violinist and educator with over 30 years of experience in performance and teaching across Europe, North America, and Asia. He earned his Master of Arts from the State Musical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1991 under Prof. Anton Hadjiatanasov, and later completed a two-year Master Class in Chamber Music under Prof. Maia Patroneva.

These academic roots in the Bulgarian music tradition form the basis of his technical approach and his long-standing career in music education and mentorship. His performance background includes solo recitals, chamber music, and orchestral work in countries such as Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, England, Singapore, and Thailand.

In 1980, he was awarded First Prize at the Cleveland Inter-Tie Competition in England as part of the violin quartet “Violino.” This practical experience on stage provides him with a clear understanding of the technical requirements and discipline needed for various ensemble and solo formats.

As a teacher, Mr. Varbanov has held positions at The National School of Music “Lubomir Pipkov” in Bulgaria, the School of the Arts (SOTA) in Singapore, and the Harmonia School of Music and Art in the USA. During his tenure in Bulgaria, he prepared students for several international platforms, including the Klassisk Musikkonkurrence in Copenhagen, the Kocian International Violin Competition in the Czech Republic, and the Young Music Talents in Sofia, Bulgaria. His involvement in the National Contest for children violinists in Blagoevgrad as a co-organizer from 1993 to 1996 further adds to his familiarity with the standards of youth music competitions.

Currently, Mr. Varbanov manages his own teaching practice in Singapore and remains active in the local music community. Having organized over one hundred student concerts and established a music school, he has significant experience in assessing student progress and performance quality. His feedback is informed by a career spent navigating different international teaching systems and a consistent commitment to string education.

Let’s welcome our next adjudicator, Ms Eunice Ng 🇸🇬

Ms. Eunice Ng is a dedicated music educator and performer with over three decades of experience as a piano teacher, vocal coach, choral conductor, and music mentor. She is the Director and Principal of Artz Platform, and holds advanced certifications including the LTCL Teaching, LLCM, and a DMus from Japan.

Eunice was awarded a prestigious scholarship to study at the renowned Musashino Music University (武蔵野音楽大学) in Japan, where she majored in Music Education with a focus on both piano and singing. She was appointed Chairperson of the Musashino Music University Alumni Association (Singapore) by Principal Naotaka Fukui.

A pioneer in arts education, Eunice was one of the founding teachers at LASALLE – SIA College of the Arts in 1984, the same year she won top prizes in the Singapore-Malaysia Song Competition

She has presented solo recitals at the Victoria Concert Hall, recorded for SBC Radio, and served as President of the Classical Singers’ Association (Singapore) in 2005.

For over a decade, Eunice has conducted the Japanese Association Ladies Choir, actively promoting Singapore-Japan cultural exchange through annual performances and community events.

She previously served on the judging panel for the ARS Nova Music Competitions and is often invited to give lectures on the lives of classical composers. She also organizes educational music tours to Europe, offering students deeper insights into music history and performance.

Let’s welcome our next adjudicator, Dr See Ning Hui 🇸🇬

Dr. See Ning Hui is a pianist recognised for her ‘refined touch, voluminous sound, and all-rounded musical personality’ (The Straits Times). Ning Hui has concertised throughout London and the UK, including the Steinway Hall, St James’s Piccadilly, Austrian Cultural Forum, Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Leeds International Concert Series.

She has also performed in France, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, and the Harris Hall at Aspen, Colorado. Her performances have been broadcast on BBC Four, BBC Radio 3, and Singapore Symphony 92.4FM. 2025-26 highlights include the SSO Chamber Series at the Victoria Concert Hall and her specially curated programme ‘ReSounding’ in Manila, London, and Singapore.

Ning Hui attained her PhD, MMus, and BMus (Hons) at the Royal College of Music London as a scholar, with guidance from Profs John Byrne, Dmitri Alexeev, Deniz Gelenbe, Sergio de Simone, Natasha Loges, Rosie Perkins, and Danny Driver. She was a laureate of the ‘Citta di Padova’ and Cesar Franck International Piano Competitions, a 2014 BBC Young Musician keyboard finalist, and Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 Singapore Steinway Youth Competition.

In August 2024, Ning Hui joined the faculty at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (University of the Arts Singapore), teaching principal study piano, chamber music, and academics. Her research interests include performance and pedagogical practices to integrate music by underrepresented composers.
