[ Roots & Routes 2024🎶 ] Immersed myself in a night of popular folk songs and cultural music at the Roots & Routes 2024 Finale Concert 🤩 I loved seeing how the different instruments and sounds from various cultures come together as one. The performers included youth musicians who participated in a four-day intercultural music exchange experience, comprising of workshops, practical and reflection sessions, and dialogues. Big kudos to Pasat Merdu, The Straits Ensemble, YouthHarmony SG and SP Media, Arts & Design School for holding this event showcasing the beauty and richness of our collective musical heritage here in Singapore and inspiring the young ones👏

Roots & Routes 2024, curated for both youths and practitioners, offers a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in Singapore's rich cultural music landscape. Through a series of workshops led by highly respected leaders in the field, attendees will delve into various cultural music styles and their popular pieces. They will also have the chance to collaborate and showcase their talents in an intercultural ensemble setting.

There are two concerts during the symposium showcasing cross-cultural music collaborations. The Straits Ensemble will perform on both the evenings of June 18th and June 21st, with the concert on the 21st featuring symposium participants.
