How do we move beyond simply telling students how plants transport water and food, and instead empower them to discover it for themselves as well as help them visualise at the same time?
We are proud to share our Happenings@Springdale Primary School feature by the Educational Technology Division (ETD), which reflects the collective effort, creativity, and dedication of our educators in integrating Educational Technology meaningfully to enhance student learning.
At Springdale Primary School, we leverage technology to deepen inquiry and make learning more meaningful. Through an Augmented Reality (AR) application developed by our school in collaboration with NIE and NTU, students can explore the functions of the plant’s food-carrying and water-carrying tubes in an interactive and engaging way.
This feature highlights more than just the use of technology—it showcases how thoughtful pedagogy remains at the heart of learning. When innovative tools are paired with purposeful instruction, students are empowered to ask questions, make observations, and construct their own understanding.
Together, we are creating learning experiences that inspire curiosity, nurture inquiry, and prepare our students for the future.

✨🌟 A Memorable Close to Semester 1 🌟✨
As we wrap up Semester 1, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our Springdalites, whose passion, perseverance, and determination have shone brightly across various domains.
From outstanding performances at the Singapore Youth Festival (S*F) and National School Games (NSG), to remarkable accomplishments in STEM and Mathematics competitions, and exemplary displays of character and leadership, our Springdalites have continued to inspire us with their commitment to excellence both inside and beyond the classroom.
Every achievement reflects the hard work, resilience, teamwork, and growth of our students, supported by dedicated teachers and parents who journey alongside them.
As we look back with pride and gratitude, we also look ahead with excitement and confidence. The best is yet to come, and we can’t wait to see our Springdalites continue to learn, lead, and soar to even greater heights in Semester 2! 🚀✨

Our Springdale Choir and Dance groups have been on an incredible journey over the past few months — filled with dedication, perseverance, and plenty of heart and hard work! And we’re so proud to share that both teams have been awarded the Certificate of Accomplishment at the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation! 🏆
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing parents and the tireless guidance of our teachers and instructors — thank you for being with us every step of the way 🙌

🌙 “9PM Lights Out, 9 Hours of Power: Sleep Your Way to Success!” 💫💪
As part of our PAM Department’s Health Week, we were delighted to welcome a very special guest — Mr Sleep Well (Mr Firzan) 🌙😴 — who was personally invited by our very own Springdale Superhero, Mr Anti Diabetes Man (Mr Jufri)! 🦸♂️💙
Mr Sleep Well took centre stage 🎤 to share with our Springdale community the importance of getting a good night’s rest. His key message was simple yet powerful — aim for 9 hours of sleep each night, and make it easy to remember with the magic timing of 9pm ⏰✨
Through his engaging sharing, students learnt how quality sleep plays a vital role in supporting their overall health and well-being — from sharper focus 🧠 and better mood 😊, to stronger immunity 💪 and healthier growth 🌱
A big thank you to Mr Sleep Well for the eye-opening session 🙌, and to Mr Anti Diabetes Man for making this collaboration possible 🤝. Together, our Springdale Superheroes continue to champion the health and well-being of every child in our school 💙🦸♀️🦸♂️

✈️🌟 From simple folds to soaring success! 🌟✈️
We’re proud to be featured twice in Berita Minggu, the Malay newspaper, celebrating the inspiring journey of our very own Omar Zarrar! 📰✨
Together with his teammates, Omar has clinched 🥈 2nd Place for the Presentation Award at the Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition (SAFMC) 2026 in the Paper Plane category—an incredible achievement on a national stage!
What started as a simple interest in folding paper planes has grown into a passion for design, problem-solving, and innovation. Together with his teammates, Omar demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement—testing, refining, and pushing their ideas further each time. 🚀
Their journey reminds us that even the smallest classroom or school events moments can spark big dreams. We are immensely proud of Omar and his teammates for representing our school with excellence and heart. 💙

📚✨ kidsREAD Programme – A Joyful Start! ✨📚
We are excited to share that our young readers had a wonderful first session of the kidsREAD Programme on Wednesday, 22 April! 💫
In collaboration with National Library Board and our partner school, Bowen Secondary School, this nationwide programme aims to nurture a love for reading and build strong reading habits in our children.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the face-to-face session, where Bowen Secondary student volunteers led engaging storytelling and interactive activities. It was heartening to see the children so enthusiastic, curious, and immersed in the joy of reading! 📖💬
We look forward to more meaningful sessions ahead as our students continue their reading journey together. Thank you to our partners and volunteers for making this experience so enriching for our children! 💛
