Kei Shin Kan with Shihan Jason Tan
Martial Way • Cultivating Mind • Establishing Oneself
A righteous mind leads to righteous fists; control your strength with your mind.
Combining strength and gentleness
Cultivating both inner and outer qualities
Unity of knowledge and action
Forging steel through tempering
Cultivate oneself through martial arts; enlighten the mind through virtue.

Four of our kids took part in the recent Singapore National Youth Karate Championships 2025, organised by Karate-do Union of Singapore, held on 16 Mar 2025.
It is with pleasure that we acknowledge the unrelenting effort exhibited by all four throughout the competition, with special recognition due to two individuals who were fasting.
Congratulations, Thanishka, Arish, Eshan, and Darrius! The bouts showcased your training, fortitude and resilience. Moreover, the demonstration of sportsmanship and resolve, even in the face of strong odds, was truly commendable.
Thanks to Shihan Jason Tan and the seniors who trained the kids prior to the competition, and helped during the events!
Thanks also to the support of our wonderful parents who turned up to help their kids and cheer them on!

Dear all,
It has come to our attention that one Mr Cheah She Poi has registered the trade mark “啓心館 Kei Shin Kan Karate” with the Singapore trade mark registry. Mr Cheah has also incorporated a company by the name of “International Kei Shin Kan Karatedo Singapore”, as well as registered the name “International Kei Shin Kan Karate-Do Association (Singapore)” with the Registry of Societies.
Singapore Kei Shin Kan Karate Association (“SKSKKA”) is registered with the Registry of Societies since 1971, and we have been operating in Singapore on our own since. We would like to clarify that Mr Cheah is not a member or otherwise a part of the SKSKKA. We have not authorised Mr Cheah or any other person to register any trade marks or incorporate any entity using the “Kei Shin Kan” name, and we have not allowed Mr Cheah or any other person to operate any school, society, or other business under the “Kei Shi Kan” name. Please be aware that the SKSKKA has no affiliation with any other school or entity in Singapore purporting to use the “Kei Shin Kan” name.
All classes conducted by the SKSKKA are under the purview of our President and Chief Instructor, Mr Jason Tan. Any classes being conducted by any other school, entity or person purporting to use the “Kei Shin Kan” name (including Mr Cheah) are not affiliated with SKSKKA or Mr Jason Tan in any way.
Yours sincerely,
The Management Committee of the Singapore Kei Shin Kan Karate Association

Singapore Kei Shin Kan Karate Association is happy to announce that 7 of our students, trained by Chief Instructor Shihan Jason Tan, did very well at the recent Singapore National Youth Karate Championship 2024, held on 7 Apr 2024, organised by Karate-do Union of Singapore.
None gave up.
One lost his milk tooth when he was accidentally hit in the face, but continued attacking. One fought back tears and soldiered on when she was hit in the spot where she lost a tooth the day before, but only broke down and cried after the bout.
Two fought on empty fuel tanks and big hearts, because they were fasting, but their bouts were only held in the afternoon.
Some went up against more experienced, taller and stronger competitors.
All did their best without giving up. The inner strength, resilience and fortitude that we were looking for shone through. This quality will no doubt define them and carry them into the future phases of their lives.
And in the end, all 7 came home with medals on their chests, and the sense of achievement in their hearts!
Thanks Shihan Jason Tan for your dedication and guidance to train the kids.
Thanks to the volunteer instructors and seniors who rallied to help and gave support on the actual day. This was the “Shin” in Kei Shin Kan being demonstrated, which showed that despite the recent challenges, we will press on as one.
We are also very grateful to the parents who came to help us organise and prepare their kids for the bouts. We could not have done this without you!
Thanks also to KUS for organising this championship. We are happy to support KUS, for the betterment of Karate-do in Singapore.
