To improve your O-Level History grades, you must transition from simply knowing historical facts to analyzing their significance and mastering the specific structures required for Source-Based Questions (SBQ) and Structured Essay Questions (SEQ).

🎯 Master Source-Based Questions (SBQ)
SBQs make up a massive chunk of your grade, and they test your historical skills, not just memory.
* Identify the Purpose: Never look at a source in isolation. Always ask yourself: Who created this, who is the target audience, what impact did they want to achieve, and why now?
* Cross-Reference Constantly: When evaluating reliability or utility, cross-reference the source with other sources in the paper or with your own contextual knowledge to spot contradictions or corroborations.
* Detect Tone and Bias: Look out for emotional language, exaggerations, or logical fallacies that reveal the author’s underlying motives or hidden agendas.
* Avoid Provenance Traps: Do not assume a source is automatically reliable just because it is an official document, or unreliable just because it is propaganda. Evaluate its message within the context.

📕 Structure Essays Using PEEL
For Structured Essay Questions (SEQ), raw storytelling will not score well. You need sharp argumentation.
* Point: State your direct answer to the question in the very first sentence of the paragraph.
* Explanation: Explain the historical logic. Show how and why the factor you mentioned caused the event or outcome.
* Evidence: Support your explanation with concrete historical details—such as exact dates, key treaties, names of leaders, or specific policies.
* Link: Conclude the paragraph by explicitly tying your argument back to the central question.

🧩 Study Chronologically and Thematically
Memorizing isolated facts is overwhelming. Group your revision to see the bigger picture.
* Map Cause and Effect: Create timelines to see how one event triggered the next (e.g., how the Treaty of Versailles directly fed into the rise of Hi**er).
* Compare Themes: Look for overarching themes across different chapters, such as political instability, economic crises, or the failure of international diplomacy.

🦾Practice the Assertion question (The 8-Mark Question)
The final part of your essay or SBQ evaluation often requires a balanced judgment.
* Aim for 2 sources to support the assertion and 2 sources that counter: Never take a one-sided approach.
* Explain the sources clearly.
* Use Reliability or contextual knowledge to achieve the bonus mark

Your child will receive:
✅ Comprehensive chapter notes & cheatsheets
✅ Onsite or Zoom weekly lessons
✅ 80 topical practice questions
✅ 2 mock papers per subject
