Debating Against Humanity 2022

Dunman High School Debate Club is back again hosting the 6th edition of Debate against Humanity (DaH)! Registration for Singapore’s only FUN debate tournament is now open. For interested parties, you can sign up to be a participant or an adjudicator. This year, participant registration is open to both institutions and independent teams, so assemble your teams and sign up as soon as possible!

3 rounds of debate with 3 tiers of power cards. Each successive tier will contain cards with a greater ability to change the game, so remember to use them wisely and turn the tides in your favour!

Adjudicator registration has opened for the 6th edition of Debating Against Humanity!

Singapore's first 'fun' debate tournament, DAH is a one-day tournament that provides unique twists through its trademark power card system, creating fun and engaging debates while retaining the excitement of conventional tournaments. It will be a full day event from 8am to 7pm on 11 June, held entirely on zoom.

Debates will follow the World Schools Debate Championship format.

As an adjudicator, you'll get to see the entertaining effects of our power cards in the best place: as an invulnerable observer!

Hello participating teams!
Welcome to Debating against Humanity 2021, hosted by the Debate Club of Dunman High School!

There are 3 tiers of power cards which can provide a twist for each round of the debate. There will be three rounds in total. Each successive tier will contain cards with a greater ability to change the game, so remember to use them wisely and turn the tides in your favour! :)

Each team will receive 4 Cards and only 2 cards can be used for each debate round. Do take some time to take a look through the different cards and their corresponding powers, before strategising on how to use them. The faces of the cards will include its design, description of its power and its tier level.

The debate will follow the Asian parliamentary format.

We look forward to seeing the exciting debates on the day of DaH. To all teams, good luck and have fun!

DaH registration is ending in a weeks time. To get you guys excited, here’s a sneak peek of 5 new power cards newly redesigned for DaH this year! For this year, the power card system will be newly revamped to include just 4 cards per set of differing tiers. As per previous years, only two power cards max can be used per round. The card need to be passed to the facilitators 15 minutes after the release of a motion.

Hi everyone!
Thank you for the enthusiastic response to Debating against Humanity so far, especially after our hiatus last year. Please look below for the most updated timeline for DaH. Notably, we have reduced the number of rounds from 4 rounds to 3. The tournament will also be ending earlier at 5:30 instead of the previously stated 6:30. Sorry for any confusion caused.

After a one-year hiatus, Debating against Humanity is back with our fifth edition! This year's edition will go online for the first time, with beloved old and wicked new power cards in play! Registration for Singapore’s only FUN debate tournament is now open, alongside sign-up for adjudicators. This year, we're allowing registration not just to institutions but for independent teams as well, so go round up your friends!

For the uninitiated, Debating Against Humanity features our unique power card system that adds random (or not), hilarious and outright deadly twists to each debate. Each team will be issued 4 power cards which can each be used once to gain an advantage or handicap your opponents. These range from disrupting an opponent's preparation, to obtaining dubiously sourced information, to outright....neutralising...an opposing speaker. If you've never experienced it before, come experience debating as you've never known it;)
