What if the future of Singapore starts with the ideas we imagine today? 👀✨

Our Student Leaders recently took part in a Futures Thinking Workshop at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), where they explored how the future of Singapore could look and the role they might play in shaping it.

From pitching and “bidding” for their favourite futures, to hunting for signals of what’s to come across URA’s city. Planning exhibits, students were challenged to think beyond the present and envision themselves in the future they want to create.

And yes… one student even saw himself stepping into political leadership someday 😄

55 students. 3 days. 2 nights. One unforgettable leadership journey. 💪🌟

And that’s a wrap on the PFP Student Leadership Camp 2026!

Over 3D2N, our student leaders stepped beyond what was comfortable. Cooking outdoors, taking on rafting challenges, learning from leadership experiences, supporting their teammates and connecting with the migrant worker community at Kaki Bukit Recreation Centre.

There were moments that challenged them physically. Moments that required them to adapt. Moments where they had to trust one another, step up, step back, listen, encourage and keep going.

Because leadership isn’t always about being the loudest person in the room or having all the answers.

Sometimes, it’s about taking initiative when it matters.
Sometimes, it’s about helping someone else succeed.
And sometimes, it’s simply about choosing to keep moving forward together. ❤️

The camp ended on a high with a fitting reminder that leadership ultimately goes beyond ourselves and is about the impact we create for those around us.

To our 55 PFP Student Leaders — this may be the end of camp, but your leadership journey is only getting started.

Leadership isn’t just about giving directions. It’s about making sure the people you lead are heard.

As part of this year’s PFP Leadership Camp, our student leaders had the privilege of hearing from Raleigh Singapore and Isabelle Kirkwood on how expeditions can shape character, resilience and the way we lead.

Through adventure, you learn to work alongside people from different backgrounds and cultures, navigate communication barriers, adapt when things don’t go according to plan, and most importantly, listen.

Because leadership is a two-way conversation. It’s not simply about telling people where to go, but creating space for feedback, understanding your team, and making sure everyone knows they are moving forward together.

A timely reminder as our student leaders embark on their own expedition. Sometimes the journey develops the leader more than the destination ever could. 🌿

Learning doesn’t always happen in a classroom. Sometimes, it happens when students step up, get involved and give back.

At the National Day Istana Open House, 110 RP student volunteers from the Republic Polytechnic Polytechnic Foundation Programme- RP PFP and Republic Polytechnic School of Sports and Health - RP SSH came together with Sport Singapore to support the event. From manning booths and welcoming members of the public to helping visitors experience sports, heritage, community activities, music and cultural performances, our student volunteers created a meaningful and memorable National Day experience for the visitors.

From navigating a large-scale public event to connecting with people from all walks of life, experiences like these give our students opportunities to step beyond the classroom, work together and contribute to the community.

And for siblings Miya Ariqa Binte Mohamad Nizal, a PFP student, and Mohamad Miqa Ariyan, a Sports Coaching student, it was also a chance to volunteer side by side. ❤️

“Seeing families spend quality time with one another, and being able to bond together with my older brother makes this more memorable,” says Ariqa.

Despite the damp start to the day, the siblings and their fellow volunteers kept the energy up.

“Overall, the event ran very smoothly despite the circumstances, and we definitely had a lot of fun,” says Ariyan. “I am also thankful I got to share this experience with my sister, and I look forward to more volunteering events with her.”

Their contributions were also recognised by Sport Singapore. “Thanks to the students for showing up with the tremendous support which really made a difference to the delivery of the event day experience for all visitors,” says Jemuel Fu, Deputy Director (Integrated Plans and Youth Programme Development), Sport Singapore.

As part of RP’s GroundImpact initiative, students get to take on projects that create meaningful impact in the communities around them, while growing through real-world experiences.

A Sunday well spent serving Singapore. 🇸🇬💜

Yesterday, 60 PFP Student Leaders stepped forward as Team Nila volunteers at the National Day Istana Open House supporting the activities, welcoming visitors and helping families enjoy a memorable day together.

From interactive games and community activities to the first-ever evening concert on the Istana grounds, our student leaders worked behind the scenes with energy, teamwork and plenty of smiles. ✨

Thank you for giving your time and representing with heart. You didn’t just attend the celebration, you helped make it happen.

Our HAMB students have transformed South Agora into a marketplace of ideas, creativity, and entrepreneurship! 🚀

As part of their Fundamentals of Business I module, students are putting their learning into action through 25 student-run pop-up stores, offering everything from handmade crafts and personalised keepsakes to games, snacks, and interactive experiences.

More than just selling products, they’re gaining first-hand experience in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and running a business, skills that go far beyond the classroom.

🏓 The journey begins.

Meet the first-ever RP Pickleball Team as they gear up for the Youth at Play Pickleball Tournament on 27 July, where they’ll represent RP against other polytechnics. 💪🔥

This exciting opportunity was made possible through CFS’ collaboration with Sport Singapore, giving our students the chance to grow beyond the classroom through sports.

As RP’s pioneer pickleball team, these 20 student-athletes will also serve as Pickleball Ambassadors for our Right to Play Sports Festival this November.

“We are the dedicated team players who take care of every aspect of a guest’s experience,” says Atlas Chee, Valedictorian from Republic Polytechnic School of Hospitality - RP SOH. “We don’t do this simply because it’s our job, but because it’s a calling — a passion to serve, a purpose to strive for, and a promise to show up with a smile every day.”

Drawn to RP’s applied learning approach and the chance to build his confidence in teamwork and presentations, the Zhonghua Secondary School alumnus enrolled in the Diploma in Hotel Hospitality Management (now Hotel & Leisure Management) through the Republic Polytechnic Polytechnic Foundation Programme- RP PFP.

During his year-long internship at Marina Bay Sands under the Talent Advancement Programme, Atlas gained hands-on experience across front- and back-of-house operations at RISE Restaurant and CUT by Wolfgang Puck. His commitment to service excellence and drive to constantly improve his craft earned recognition from guests and industry mentors alike.

Another defining chapter of his journey came at the POL-ITE Games, where Atlas and his RP Dragon Boat teammates clinched Bronze. With no prior experience in the sport, he committed himself to months of intensive training to earn a spot on the team and ultimately stand on the podium.

Overseas experiences also played a key role in shaping his outlook. Through learning trips to Malaysia, Taiwan and Bali, Atlas was exposed to different hospitality practices and cultures. Among them, the Bali immersion stood out as the most meaningful — living and learning alongside his diploma mates not only deepened his cultural awareness, but also strengthened his independence and sense of purpose.

At SOH Club, Atlas further grew as a leader, organising service-learning projects that engaged and connected with seniors in the community. After seeing the impact of the first run, he went on to initiate two more editions during festive periods like Christmas and Chinese New Year.

His mantra: give more than what’s expected, every single time.
