The Singapore Asset Management Conference (SAMC) is the Yale-NUS Student Investment Group’s inaugural flagship event that aims to provide an avenue for students to gain deeper insights into the Asset Management industry. SAMC is the largest student-run asset and wealth management conference in Asia targeted at the most competent undergraduate students from the region. The conference aims to fill the dearth in knowledge about the industry and serves to provide a recruiting platform for firms in Singapore.

Joseph (Joe) Caceres is Head of Managed Solutions & Alternative Investments, South East Asia for HSBC Private Banking. In this role, he manages the teams responsible for HSBC Private Banking’s Global Discretionary Proposition which includes equity, fixed income, and multi-asset programs as well as HSBC Alternative Investment Group products including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Private Credit, and Real Estate.
Joe joined HSBC in 2007 and was previously Head of Equities, South East Asia for HSBC Private Banking. During his twelve year tenure with HSBC, Joe has also worked with HSBC Global Banking & Markets where he was responsible at various times for Hedge Fund Prime Brokerage, Equity Trading, and Equity Sales.
Joe also acts as Private Banking’s Next Generation Program Co-Lead for the Singapore booking centre, supporting this important global initiative to reach out to the next generation of clients as well as new young entrepreneurs and business owners. In addition to this, Joe is a Sustainability Leader for Private Banking in Singapore and is a regular speaker and contributor to HSBC’s client conferences and flagship events including the Semi-Annual Asian Investment Outlook series, Next Generation Conference, and Family Enterprise Forum.
Prior to joining HSBC in Singapore, Joe worked for Deutsche Bank in Singapore, Hong Kong and New York. He is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Jo has been in Asia for over 20 years, predominantly based in Hong Kong but with two valuable years spent in Singapore. She has held several senior Asia Pacific management positions, successfully leading sales, business development, marketing and client relationship management divisions for major institutions and has both built and managed large and effective regionally located teams.
Jo was expatriated to Hong Kong, with Morgan Stanley, in early 1997 and has worked for a number of global institutions during her time in Asia covering intermediary, buy and sell side, entrepreneurial and most recently in a professional education business environment - throughout the Alternative Investment industry.
In 2000 Jo joined HSBC Securities Services (previously Bank of Bermuda) as Head of Sales for the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong and in 2005 moved on to Head of Sales Asia (ex Japan) and Product Specialist for all alternative investment products at Deutsche Asset Management. In 2008 Jo rejoined the ex-Head of Bank of Bermuda / HSBC at Triple A Partners. In early 2011 Jo joined the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, the international leader in alternative investment education and provider of the CAIA designation, as Managing Director and Head of the Asia Pacific where she also holds a position on its Global Executive Committee.
Jo enjoys the reputation of being hard-working, capable, committed and commercial, and was voted “Asia’s most influential woman in the alternative sector” and also one of “The 25 most influential people in Asian hedge funds” by the industry’s leading Asian Investor magazine. Jo also was a founding member of the Hong Kong AIMA Chapter, previously held an Executive Committee Member position and now sits on its Education Committee. Further, she also holds a number of senior Board positions, is a Fellow of UniSIM University (Singapore) as well as an advisory council member of UPACA Gurukul (India).

Jahanzeb Naseer is the Head of Academy, Asia Pacific, at Point72. He is responsible for developing the curriculum of Academy programs in Asia Pacific, and works closely with the global leadership and Academy teams. He is based in our Hong Kong office. Prior to joining Point72, Jahan worked at Credit Suisse under Equities Research in Hong Kong and Jakarta for the past 10 years. Jahan graduated from Lahore University of Management Sciences with a Bachelor in Economics, History and Statistics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Tracey was appointed Vice Chairman, Asia Pacific, Wealth Management, UBS AG in July 2016. She was until recently Vice Chairman of Citibank ASEAN Corporate and Investment Banking, encompassing Investment Banking for South East Asia, as well as Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions practice, Global Transaction Services and Global Subsidiaries Group for Singapore.
Tracey has more than 35 years of investment banking experience having worked on a whole spectrum of corporate finance transactions from equity fund raising (IPOs, equity placements and rights issues) to debt offerings to advisory work, including takeovers of public companies in Singapore and ASEAN.
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the National University of Singapore. She was also conferred 2016 IBF Distinguished Fellow Award.

James Cheo is Chief Market Strategist, Southeast Asia, for HSBC Private Banking. He provides thought leadership for investment strategy and thematic investments. James is a member of the HSBC Private Banking’s Global Investment Committee and Asia Regional Investment Committee.
James has more than 15 years of portfolio strategy, asset allocation and economic research experience. Prior to re-joining HSBC, James was Senior Investment Strategist at Bank of Singapore, responsible for asset allocation and thematic research. James previously held Investment Strategist roles at HSBC Private Banking and Barclays Wealth Asia.
James started his career as a Senior Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he was part of the team that prescribed policy actions for Singapore during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis.
James has a strong media profile, his investment views are frequently sought after by leading TV channels including Bloomberg, CNBC, CNA, Channel 8 Chinese News; and print media such as the Financial Times, Straits Times, Business Times.
James graduated with First Class Honours in Finance from Nanyang Technological University. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst charter in 2007.

Nadir Maruf joined Eastspring Investments, the Asian asset management business of Prudential plc, as Chief Investment Officer (Alternatives), in September 2017. Nadir is responsible for the management and investment performance of our Private Equity, Private Debt and Infrastructure capabilities.
Nadir has more than 20 years of investment experience and was previously the Chief Executive Officer, Partner and Executive Member of the Board of Daestrum Holding S.A in Luxembourg and Daestrum Capital Pte Ltd in Singapore.
Prior to that, Nadir worked at Deutsche Asset Management for more than a decade, where he was the Managing Director, Head of Alternatives Infrastructure, Asia Pacific, and also held other senior roles including Head of Infrastructure, Asia-Pacific and Chief Executive Officer, Asset Management in Australia.
Nadir also worked at RREEF Infrastructure in London (part of Deutsche Asset Management) where he was a Managing Director in the European team. His transactional experience includes, roads, rail, ports, airports, LNG, telecoms, water, timberland, property, gas and renewable energy.

Rahul Malhotra is a Managing Director and Head of Southeast Asia and Non Resident Indian (NRI) clients for J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Based in Singapore, he leads his team in delivering the firm’s investing, wealth transfer, credit and philanthropic services to the ultra-high-net-worth clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia, including NRI clients across multiple regions.
Mr. Malhotra has over 25 years of experience in financial services. He was previously the Head of Wealth Management for Asia at Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, Mr. Malhotra spent 20 years in Citibank where he was based in Dubai, London and Singapore. At Citibank, he held various senior leadership positions including Head of Retail Banking in Asia and Global Head of Non Resident Indians.
Mr. Malhotra attended the Executive Education Programme from Columbia University and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Delhi University.

Diana Robinson is the Head of Investments for Southeast Asia at J.P.Morgan Private Bank. Based in Singapore, she leads a team responsible for providing portfolio management and advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth clients across foreign exchange, equities, fixed income and alternative investments.
Diana has recently taken on this role, having spent the last 2 1/2 years managing the Equities team in Europe, Middle East and Africa, for the Private Bank, and living in London. In this role she managed a team which advised clients on the outlook for equity markets globally and assisted in the construction of equity portfolios which reflected the key themes identified by the team.
Diana re-joined J.P.Morgan in 2015 having previously worked at the Investment Bank in London, managing the institutional equity department. Between stints at the bank, Diana managed her own financial services consulting firm, contracting with a broad range of clients, with a particular interest in Social Finance and Sustainability. In addition, Diana worked as a business coach with a focus on women in finance. Diana has an Economics degree from William & Mary, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and an accredited Business Coach.

Deepak Khanna is the Head of Wealth Development for HSBC Bank (Singapore), the locally incorporated Retail Banking and Wealth Management business of HSBC, since 2013. He is responsible for its wealth business including the overall product and services roadmap, tools
and platforms, financial planning policies, customer insights and governance.
Deepak has extensive experience in the Wealth Management industry in Singapore and India covering different aspects including investments, insurance, treasury, deposits and Investment lending. Prior to joining HSBC, Deepak held similar roles covering product and advisory for NZ and ABN AMRO Bank in Singapore.
Deepak is an active participant in various industry forums and a guest lecturer with the Wealth Management Institute. He was conferred the IBF Fellow Award for Wealth Management by the Institute of Banking and Finance in 2018. Deepak has a MBA and is a CFA Charter holder.
