One of our favourite August traditions.

Each morning, our staff and students gather in the Heartspace to hear the shofar blowing as we look ahead to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, a time of reflection and fresh beginnings.

A beautiful moment to come together, celebrate tradition and start the day as one community.

A very timely and important conversation between Mr Greg and HoneyKids as part of their Growing Pains series, exploring a topic that many parents and educators can relate to:

“The Kids Getting Top Grades Are Secretly Struggling.”

It’s a powerful reminder that academic success doesn’t always tell the full story. Behind the grades, there may be pressure, anxiety, self-doubt and the fear of not being “good enough.”

An important conversation about looking beyond results and paying attention to the whole child, their wellbeing and happiness.

Well done, Mr Greg, for contributing to this important conversation and helping to bring greater awareness to the pressures children can experience in today’s learning environment.

Congratulations to our Class of 2026 on a wonderful iGCSE results.

57% of grades were awarded at A*–A, well ahead of the worldwide average of 41%, and outstanding results came from Sciences, Additional Mathematics and English, alongside top marks in Music, Chinese and Global Perspectives. These results are way above the Cambridge International averages.

We could not be prouder of this cohort and everything they have achieved.

Please join us in welcoming Victoria Baker, our new Head of Inclusion.

Victoria returns to SMMIS and brings deep experience to student wellbeing, with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Exeter. Over the past five years she has worked as a school counsellor and therapist, including at Marlborough College.

A children's therapist, social worker and SENDCo, Victoria has led student support teams across international schools and managed her own therapy practice, bringing a strong commitment to high-quality social, emotional and behavioural care.

Above all, she believes that every child deserves to feel genuinely known, supported and able to thrive.

We are delighted to welcome Victoria back to the SMMIS community.

Please join us in welcoming Holly, our new Head of Secondary School.

Holly joins SMMIS with over 15 years of experience in pastoral and curriculum leadership across the UK, Bangkok and Budapest. She completed her National Professional Qualification for Headship in 2025.

A passionate teacher of biology and science and a member of our Senior Leadership Team, Holly grounds her approach in cognitive science and educational research.

Above all, she believes that truly knowing each young person as an individual is key to helping them feel supported, build confidence and thrive.

We are delighted to welcome Holly to the SMMIS community.

Congratulations to our IGCSE Class of 2026!

A big congratulations to all our students on receiving their IGCSE results! We are so proud of the hard work, commitment and resilience they have shown throughout the year.

This year is especially meaningful for us as we celebrate our first Grade 11 cohort and their graduation. It is a very special milestone for our school, and we couldn’t be prouder of this group of students.

Their achievements also reflect the value of the personalised support and close teacher guidance at SMMIS, helping each student grow in confidence and achieve their best.

A big thank you to our teachers and families for supporting them throughout their journey.
