It’s all about β€˜Fruits and Vegetables’ πŸ“πŸ₯’ at Kinder Tots last week and we learnt all about β€˜Cornβ€™πŸŒ½

For our gross motor activity, we used our arm muscles to shake the corn shaker around. We also got to exercise our leg muscles by crawling after the corn as it rolled away πŸͺ‡πŸ«¨

For art and craft, we used mini paint rollers to paint our suncatcher corn with yellow and green paint. We had fun feeling the wet and cool texture of the paint with our little fingers. πŸŽ¨πŸŒ½β˜€οΈ

For our fine motor activity, we exercised our little fingers to pluck out the β€˜corn kernels’ and β€˜leaves’ on the corn - developing our eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity 🫳

For our sensory bin, we got to fully explore cooked, mashed corn kernels using our five senses!✨ We mashed the mushy corn in our hands, scooped it into little cupcake containers and even snacked on some of the corn. πŸŒ½πŸ˜‹

This week’s story is β€˜The tortoise and the hare’ and we learnt all about being consistent with what we are doing. πŸ’πŸ‡πŸ

For gross motor, we ran a short distance race by going zigzag around bushes. We held onto balls in cones and balanced it while we ran before putting it in the rabbit box!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ

For art and craft, we did marble and pompom ball painting. We rolled the marbles around the tray and stamped the Pom Pom balls on the hare and tortoise picture. 🎨🐒

For fine motor, we helped the tortoise and hare prepare their food by washing some dirty vegetables! We used water and toothbrushes to scrub the vegetables clean. πŸ₯•πŸ₯¬πŸ§½πŸ«§

We ended the lesson with black beans, shredded paper and animals! πŸπŸ‡πŸ’

Our Kinder Tots kids learnt all about the fruit: strawberries this week! πŸ“πŸ’—

This week for our Kinder Tots class, we learnt all about yummy fruits and vegetables! πŸŽπŸ‰πŸ₯•πŸŒ½πŸ₯¦

We had a visual stimulating activity where we played with some colourful pompom balls and features that simulated leaves and corn kernels 🌽 We picked and plucked the pompom balls and dropped them into the little containers we have! ✨

Next we used real corn cobs to paint! 🌽 the children are exposed to texture, colors and discovery learning as they try to make sense of the item infront of them through their 5 senses πŸ’›

For our sensory bin, we mixed in baby corn, leaves in yellow food colouring water πŸ’§ We had so much fun tapping around in the water, as well as playing with food helps to engage their interest in trying out different foods! 😊

We ended our nature week last week at Gardens By The Bay! πŸŒ΄πŸ‚πŸͺ΅πŸŒ·

We made our way to the children’s garden by walking and engaging in a bird spotting πŸ“πŸ¦œand a nature scavenger huntπŸƒπŸŒΈ. It was a great opportunity for them to explore and learn about different birds and elements of nature.

Next, we headed to the toddler playground, where the children participated in some fun hunts, including finding flags and stars. 🚩⭐️These activities encourage problem-solving skills and help them appreciate the beauty of their surroundings.

Afterward, we moved on to sand drawing, allowing the children to express their creativity using sand. It's a sensory activity that helps develop their fine motor skills.🏝️✍️

Following sand drawing, the children engaged in nature chalk drawing and colouring. We used chalk to create beautiful artwork inspired by the natural elements around them. πŸβ˜˜οΈπŸ–οΈ

We then had some free playtime, giving the children the chance to explore different play areas and engage in unstructured play. πŸ›πŸ’¦
