Count our blessings and share our surplus
❄️ This is Wang Fuman, a young boy from rural China whose determination touched the world.
Two winters ago, his teacher snapped a photo that went viral — Wang had just walked 5 kilometers in -9°C (15°F) weather, wearing only a thin jacket and no hat, to make it to his exam.
His hair and eyebrows were frozen, his cheeks bright red, yet his smile never faded. ❤️
There was no heating in his home or school.
Students attended class wearing their coats, their breath visible in the cold.
But Wang was driven — he believed education was his only way out of poverty.
That day, he scored 99 out of 100 on his test. 🏆
After the photo spread online, people across China donated 3 million yuan ($450,000).
The funds helped repair the school’s heating, buy warm clothes, and support children from poor families in Yunnan Province.
When Wang was invited to Beijing, he was amazed by one simple thing:
💬 “At home, we sleep in jackets and burn charcoal. But here, the houses are so warm… Heating is a miracle!”
His words remind us of something powerful:
We often forget how lucky we are for the little things — warmth, comfort, and the chance to learn. 🙏
