Have you ever wondered why a simple personal story stays with us far longer than a textbook lesson? Or why a student's eyes light up when they feel truly seen, heard, and understood? In this reading, Ms Vasanthi Thandlam, HOD English as an Additional Language, explores how human connection and narratives shape our brains, why unjudging others builds empathy, and how borrowing living "books" through the Human Library helps children develop resilience, open-mindedness, and true belonging. Read more.

When was the last time you listened to someone whose life journey was vastly different from your own, without feeling the urge to disagree, judge, or project your own story onto theirs? Can you recall a moment when a grandparent sat you down and said, "Let me tell you a story"?

While school was out for summer break, our Maintenance team and contractors were hard at work giving our campus a fresh update. We kicked off our Primary classroom upgrades with seven classrooms receiving new flooring, fresh paint schemes, custom cabinetry, and ergonomic furniture from Furnware—a globally recognised specialist in educational furniture. The new tables feature writable whiteboard surfaces for easy collaboration and idea-sharing. The remaining Primary classrooms will be renovated the same during upcoming holiday breaks. We’ve also laid down fresh Astroturf at The Nest, the play area, and primary walkways, alongside fresh coats of paint throughout campus. We are all set for the new academic year and can't wait to welcome our students back into these transformed spaces!

We are thrilled to announce the strong achievements of our Year 11 (MYP5) students in the May 2026 MYP eAssessment!

🔹Top score of 52 (of possible maximum 56 points)
🔹School average of 43 points (vs. world average of 36.4)
🔹5 students were awarded the Bilingual Certificate
🔹Personal Project average grade of 6 (vs. global average of 3.99)

These results reflect the dedication of our students, the support of their families, and the commitment of our educators. Congratulations to the cohort on these well-earned results and to Janvi Sharma for topping Chatsworth's score!

Chatsworth was one of the pioneer schools and remains one of only a handful of international schools in Singapore where MYP students sit the full eAssessment and Personal Project, which is excellent preparation and a precursor to the IB Diploma.
