One of the insights that stood out from Marylen Mallari Ramos conversation with Francis Kong was how many organizational challenges eventually lead back to one thing:
Leadership.
When companies struggle with retaining good people, we often look at compensation, benefits, or career opportunities.
Yet Francis shared that many employees don't leave because of the organization itself.
They leave because of poor leadership.
Another challenge he highlighted is culture.
When leaders say one thing but do another, trust begins to erode. Confusion sets in. Over time, this gap between words and actions can create a toxic culture.
It reminded me that leadership is not just about vision or strategy.
It's about consistency.
People pay attention not only to what leaders say, but also to what leaders do.
The more aligned our actions are with our values, the stronger the trust we build.
Perhaps the question for all of us is:
Are we creating a culture where people want to stay, grow, and thrive?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think is the biggest leadership challenge organizations face today?
