Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has announced that Section 377A will be repealed.
โ€œThe government will repeal 377A, and decriminalise s*x between men. I believe this is the right thing to do, and something most Singaporeans will now accept. This will bring the law into line with current social mores and I hope, provide some relief to gay Singaporeans.โ€

Stay tuned to our socials for the community statement that will be released be LGBTQ groups soon!

Gender Collective stands in solidarity with Ms Parti Liyani as we ask Mdm President Halimah Yacob for an independent review of Singaporeโ€™s Justice System.

To read the full letter as well as to write in to the President or your MPs, please check out this link: tinyurl.com/westandwithpartiliyani

Parti Liyani's case was an example of the clear gaps in equal access to justice, especially for low-income Singaporeans and migrants. There is an urgent need for reform to the criminal justice system, so Gender Collective supports the call for an independent review of the justice system, especially regarding processes that involve vulnerable and marginalised people.

As a feminist organisation, we at Gender Collective wish to bring attention to inequalities in society which arise from various intersecting forms of marginalisation. We urge any and all of you who are concerned about the state of access to justice and enabling institutional change, to click on the tinyurl link in the second paragraph to write in to politicians and/or the President, expressing your concerns or ideas for institutional reform that will address the disadvantage that low-income and migrant populations experience in the legal system.

The first week of the university semester has begun! :-)

We thought to share some resource booklets by Inter-University LGBT Network, Singapore which could be helpful to many of you looking for q***r spaces to explore in Singapore, or to learn more about consent and s*xual assault. These resource booklets can be found at: https://issuu.com/interunilgbtnetworksg/docs

For more resources and discussions on s*xual assault, do check out Students for a Safer NUS as well!

Fresh off the press! ๐Ÿ†• QUEER(IN) SPACES: We want youths to be able to access spaces (especially alcohol-free ones) where they can feel safe to hang out, have a date or find community... And just live, as they are! So we put this handbook together.

SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS: This resource is so important in light of all we've seen this year. We put this out 2 Pink Dots ago, but it remains super important to have conversations about consent, violence and accessing help. Pick up your copy this Saturday, or access it online ๐Ÿ’œ
