RVHS Science Leaders Academy The Science Leaders Academy (SLA) nurtures creative and innovative leaders in science and technology.

It provides learning, research and leadership opportunities for our high ability students who show a strong interest and passion in science. (A) Young Scientists @ Work Programme
Students learn first-hand through internships that are at least six months long, the work of scientists and experience research at research institutes or research laboratories in tertiary institutions and industrial estab

lishments. (B) Global Science Village Programme
This programme provides opportunities for students to see science in practice in different parts of the world. These include learning journeys to renowned science institutions and research establishments. Upon their return, they may initiate collaborative research projects with overseas partner schools. (C) Science for the Community Programme
Students apply their knowledge and skills in science to solve real-life problems to benefit the community. They also organise science programmes for children and the general public.

On 6th October, 2016, we sent off a batch of dedicated year 6s as they gear themselves towards preparing for A Levels. The farewell was short and sweet, but the message was strong. The current batch of SLA will definitely live on the legacy they've left behind, and strife to achieve greater heights for SLA. Yes 6s, all the best for you A Level!

60 budding scientists from 20 primary schools pitted their intellectual skills against one another in the Annual Junior Science Challenge organized by the West Zone of Excellence @ RVHS.

The theme of the Challenge this year is “Science in Action!”. This theme serves to increase students’ awareness on how science can be harnessed to improve quality of life.

We hope that the Challenge had instilled a greater interest in the quest for scientific knowledge in the primary school students and that they are inspired to venture deeper into the field of Science.
