Last Friday afternoon, Geography students from 4SG1 and 4SG2 traded their textbooks for the vibrant streets of Singapore! We embarked on an exciting field trip to the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the historic lanes of Chinatown to see our lessons come to life.
How do individuals acquire a "sense of place"? We found the answers written on Chinatown's distinctive streets, beautiful wall murals, and iconic heritage buildings. By conducting semi-structured interviews with tourists, we deepened our understanding of Singapore’s tourism landscape as well. We saw firsthand how these famous landmarks contribute directly to our social sustainability.
This experience did more than just teach us geography - it allowed us to become more introspective, open-minded, and appreciative of our local culture. Seeing abstract sketches and interactive exhibitions turn into real-world knowledge was truly fascinating!
A huge shoutout to Ms Chua, Mr Tan, and Mdm Chang for organizing this incredible experience and giving us the chance to explore Geography on a much deeper level.' - by Tiffany Picard, 4SG2

Quest Global@China Part I 🛫🇨🇳
This June, Queenstownians on the Quest Global@China programme immersed themselves in 5,000 years of vibrant culture. The group got a firsthand look at how one of the world's oldest civilisations preserves its rich heritage while dynamically adapting to remain relevant in a modern world. In return, they also shared a piece of home, giving their hosts a taste of Singapore's 🇸🇬rich multicultural heritage through a vibrant showcase of traditional performances.
A huge shout out to Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School for being such a welcoming and attentive host! https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/NaCCDjNBj5EquDXFOdWedA

As Term 2 came to a close, Queenstownians spent the final week engaged in a variety of meaningful experiences designed to prepare them for the future, while broadening their horizons.
Our graduating cohort focused on intensive Mother Tongue lessons and coursework completion, making full use of the time to strengthen their readiness for the upcoming examinations.
At the same time, our Secondary 1 to 3 students participated in Quest Learning Festival Part 2, where learning extended beyond the classroom: Secondary 1 students explored the art of digital storytelling through a Video Editing Programme, Secondary 2 students deepened their understanding of empathy and inclusivity through the Diversity Festival, while Secondary 3 students demonstrated teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship during their Inter-Class Frisbee Games.
The term then concluded with a special assembly celebrating both achievement and character: Outstanding classes were recognised through the Class of Excellence awards, while C.L.A.S.S.Y. (Celebrating Little Acts of Service and Support Year-Long) highlighted the many acts of kindness, encouragement and support that often go unseen, but make a lasting difference in our school community.
Many students also took part in Quest Day In/Out activities, with some classes venturing out for bonding experiences, strengthening friendships and creating shared memories beyond the school campus.
These experiences reflect our belief of developing confident learners, caring individuals and responsible members of the community. As we head into the term break, we congratulate our students on yet another fruitful semester, and wish all families a restful and meaningful holiday!

Our Secondary 1 Literature students recently discovered that in the age of AI, authentic human voices matter more than ever.
On 19 and 21 May, our Sec 1 Literature classes attended an engaging assembly talk, How to Create a Unique Voice in the Age of AI, by acclaimed Singaporean writer Mr. Neil Humphreys.
Through humour, storytelling, and lively interaction, he inspired our students to think about what makes each individual’s voice distinctive and meaningful. His dynamic and entertaining sharing reminded students that while AI can generate words, it is human experiences, perspectives, and creativity that truly make writing come alive.
Thank you, Mr. Neil Humphreys, for an insightful and memorable session that sparked both laughter and reflection among our young writers and readers!

Our Secondary 1 students embarked on a field trip to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park as part of their Sec 1 ALP curriculum - where the leaning of Science and Geography comes alive.
Our students conducted the testing of water quality using 4 parameters, mainly pH level, dissolved oxygen concentration, turbidity and temperature. They also compared the data between clean water at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park and polluted water, understanding the importance of clean water in supporting healthy biodiversity in the park.
As they explored the park, our eagle-eyed students also spotted many interesting biodiversity around the park - they saw purple herons, dragonflies, eggs of the golden apple snail and many species of butterflies.
Our Geography teachers brought learning to life as they showed students real life examples of shore protection methods such as gabions, to prevent soil erosion. Our students observed the different human interactions with the environment and how it could potentially help or harm the wildlife.
All in all, it was an eye-opening experience for many of our Secondary 1 students!
