Our recent Malay MT recess activities still CNY vibes

Term 1 Week 7: we made DIY fortune cookies with Malay messages inside. Kids learned how to make them + translated CNY greetings from Chinese to Malay & English (and wrote the meanings too 👏).

Term 1 Week 8: we made cards and focused on one greeting:
身体健康 (Shēn tǐ jiàn kāng) = Sihat selalu

Our aim is for them to learn & remember new Malay words every week.

For kids taking Malay MT, they tried longer phrases like:
学业进步 (Xué yè jìn bù) :Kemajuan dalam pelajaran.

P1 & P2 were super enthusiastic… we actually ran out of craft papers on week8.

This Malay MT recess is open to ALL kids ,not just those taking Malay as MT. It’s always good to expose them to different cultures & languages 🌏
(We even had Indonesian kids joining us too!)

And yes… we are recruiting PVs to join our Malay team 🤭
No need to commit every week, you can join on an ad hoc basis. Just let us know at least 2 days in advance 🙏
