Mental Health and Cyberwellness Week (18-22 May 2026) was a week filled with meaningful and interactive experiences as students explored mental resilience, wellbeing and self-care through the Morning Leadership Series where our PSLs shared more on Mental Resilience, Mental Resilience Blackboard Display, and Boys’ Town Youth Outreach booths.

From “Read This When” messages and bean bag toss challenges to creating bergamot scent blends inspired by aromatherapy, students engaged in fun, hands-on activities that encouraged calmness, reflection and conversations around mental health.

At Bartley Secondary School, we believe that authentic learning takes place when students are given opportunities to experience concepts beyond the classroom.

Our students recently embarked on a learning journey with Paper Carpenter, where they gained valuable insights into cardboard craftsmanship, experiential design, and sustainable making. Through a behind-the-scenes look at how GAIA cardboard is engineered and transformed into structures, installations, and functional spaces, students were able to see how creativity, design thinking, and sustainability come together in real-world applications.

The highlight of the experience was the hands-on assembly activity using the PaperConnect™️ system. Students explored modular and tool-free construction methods while applying problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

The session sparked meaningful discussions on material strength, structural design, and the role of sustainability in creating innovative solutions. Through experiences like these, our students are encouraged to think creatively, embrace sustainable practices, and develop a deeper appreciation for design and engineering in the world around them.

ApLM Adventures!
Providing our Sec 4 students with opportunities beyond course advising, we arranged for interested graduating students to participate in a series of 3-day Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs) at Republic Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic.

Through programmes such as Data Detectives: Uncover Insights with Data Analysis, Design, Build and Control Underwater Robots, and The Pharmacy Trail, students gained hands-on experiences, explored emerging industries, and developed a deeper understanding of potential education and career pathways. These enriching experiences allow our students to discover their interests, broaden their perspectives, and make more informed decisions about their future aspirations.
