We were honoured to be one of the research centres visited by the Soitec delegation in Singapore last week. Led by their CTO, Dr Christophe Maleville, the team connected with the local semiconductor ecosystem to explore new opportunities in both Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN).

The visit gave us a great opportunity to showcase our specialized RF GaN work and discuss potential areas for future collaboration.

From 7 to 12 June 2026, our team attended the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS 2026) in Boston, MA, one of the world's leading conferences for RF and microwave technology.

Dr Sean Wu presented on GaN-on-Si process development in the RF GaN technical session. It was great to see the work resonate with the audience, and the feedback we received gave us plenty to think about.

Aside from the sessions, there were good conversations with researchers, industry partners and suppliers as well as useful exchanges on where the RF semiconductor space is heading.

From 21 to 24 June 2026, Prof. Geok Ing Ng was invited to speak at the ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ’๐ญ๐ก ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐ƒ๐‘๐‚ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”), the world's oldest and longest-running device research conference, sharing research and developments from NSTIC (GaN) and NTU.

He presented a paper on the latest high-power GaN-on-Si transistor advances from our team, and delivered an invited talk on Singapore's journey in RF GaN technology.

It was a great opportunity to engage with the global device research community and share the work being done in Singapore. Thank you to everyone who joined the sessions!

Last weekโ€™s ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐… ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” was a great opportunity to catch up with the global RF community. It was a diverse turnout, with participants from ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ ๐œ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ all in one place to discuss the future of semiconductors.

Prof. Ng Geok Ing represented our team, speaking on the shift toward sub-THz frequencies and the strategic role GaN-on-Si will play in that evolution. It was great to get a firsthand look at the industryโ€™s roadmap and see where semiconductor technology is heading over the next few years.
