Happy 61st birthday, Singapore! 🇸🇬

We celebrated our nation’s birthday with high energy, starting the morning with a unique All Children Exercising Simultaneously (ACES) Day workout. This year, our PE dept included our students’ request for Summer Nights (NJC’s traditional mass dance) and also brought in a National Day song to anchor the session, giving our ACES day workout a distinctive NJC and SG groove! ❤️🤍

Our students and teachers also enjoyed the parade and indoor concert segments, especially our singalong rave sessions that took place across three venues! May our shared sense of pride in our nation translate into doing better for our people and country on a daily basis. Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond! 🫡

Congratulations to Mike Chua from 25SH13 on receiving the SAF Young Leader Award (SYLA) 2026!

The SYLA recognises students with exceptional talent who have the skills, character, and heart to contribute to the defence of Singapore. We are honoured to have CPT Josh Goh, from the NJC Class of 2018, present the award to Mike this week.

In Mike’s own words: “Leadership isn’t just about taking charge, but pushing those you lead to their fullest potential while helping them enjoy the process. True resilience isn’t just about enduring hardships yourself, but finding the strength to pull others through.”

We congratulate Mike on his achievement and hope he continues to inspire us with his determination and dedication!

Great design starts with empathy, but bringing it to life takes serious grit. ✨
 
At the inaugural SST Technopreneurship Summit, four of our students Karissa, Kyrine, Garath, and Ryan, put this into practice.
 
Their project? A multi-sensory educational tool designed to help children with dyslexia learn more effectively.
 
What was most inspiring to watch was their spirit behind the scenes. Fueled by out-of-the-box thinking and a sprinkle of daredevilry, they embraced every roadblock. When standard procedures failed, they didn’t give up. They simply forged their own path, self-learning through trial and error to make their vision a reality.
 
Their hard work truly shined during the walkabout session. Those who tested their prototype were wowed by the deep care put into connecting with dyslexic learners and their caregivers, earning the team the User Experience Excellence Award! 🏆
 
We are proud of them for turning empathy into action. 🌱💡
