On 20 November, our students, corporate partners, and distinguished guests gathered for the annual Asia Term Farewell Dinner. The evening was filled with engaging conversations, shared memories, and reflections on four months of study abroad - providing a fitting conclusion to the Asia Term 2025.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkötter commended the students on reaching this significant milestone and expressed how proud everyone is of their accomplishments throughout the programme. We were also privileged to host a senior delegation from the Canton of St. Gallen, led by Beat Tinner, President of the Government of the Canton of St. Gallen. He emphasised that the Asia Term continues to be much more than an academic exchange: it is a true bridge of learning and understanding that connects Switzerland and Singapore.

In their speeches, His Excellency Frank Grütter, Swiss Ambassador to Singapore and Brunei, and Prof. Dr. Gralf Sieghold, Chairman of the SGI Board of Directors, highlighted the region’s rising importance and noted that the Asia Term offers students a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves early in Asia’s diverse cultures and dynamic environment - an experience that will serve them well in their future careers.

On 11th August 2025, the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia successfully kick started the Asia Term 2025, where our bachelor students from the University of St.Gallen began their student exchange in Singapore with the Singapore Management University. For all students, many of whom were venturing into Asia for the first time, it marked the exciting start to an immersive semester abroad.

Designed to ease their transition and spark curiosity, the kick-off day blended cultural discovery with academic input aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of life, culture, and business in the region to set students up for a successful and enriching semester ahead. After an introductory session led by the Asia Term programme management, the students headed to the vibrant Maxwell Food Centre, where they could sample an array of local dishes representing Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage. This was followed by a tour of the Singapore City Gallery, providing students with valuable insights into the city they would call home over the next few months. The day concluded with a welcome apéro at the SGI office

Amidst all the experiences and activities, the highlight of the introduction week was the Asia Term Welcome Dinner in an authentic Cantonese setting. We look forward to an insightful semester with our new cohort of Asia Term students!

Today marks the official start of the SGI Summer School Asia 2025 at the University of St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia. We are thrilled to welcome 24 outstanding young minds from across the globe to Singapore for an unforgettable academic and cultural journey.

Over the next two weeks, participants will explore key themes in entrepreneurship, innovation, and strategy while experiencing the dynamic pulse of Southeast Asia’s business capital. From lively discussions in our classrooms at SGI to site visits with global and regional firms, the programme blends academic rigour with real-world insight—and a healthy dose of local flavour, from hawker dinners to island exploration.

🔙 Flashback: Week One – Summer School Switzerland 2025 🇨🇭

The first week of our program was full of energy, insight, and exchange — both in the classroom and out in the field.

📚 A key academic highlight was the finance lecture by Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter, who provided participants with a dynamic and applied perspective on capital markets, valuation, and investment strategy.

🏢 Throughout the week, we visited companies in logistics, manufacturing, and banking — offering valuable behind-the-scenes perspectives on how Swiss business operates in practice.

🌅 We closed the week with a special alumni dinner by Lake Zurich, bringing together close to 80 participants and Summer Schools alumni for an evening of meaningful conversations and lasting connections.
