There’s something incredibly meaningful about being an early childhood educator in Singapore.

We get to meet our next generation right at the very beginning 🥹

Before they become our future teachers, doctors, artists, entrepreneurs, parents and leaders, we’re given a few precious years to plant the earliest seeds and help shape the people they’ll become.

They may be little now, but one day, Singapore will be theirs to inherit, shape and carry forward.

What a privilege it is to play even a small part in that.

Nine years ago, I had a dream.

Not just to open a preschool, but to build a place where children would feel safe, loved, valued, and excited to learn. A place where parents could entrust us with their greatest treasures, knowing they would be cared for with all our hearts.

If I’m honest, this journey hasn’t been easy.

There were moments I questioned myself, faced setbacks, carried burdens that few people knew about, and wondered if I was strong enough to keep going. But every challenge reminded me why I started.

As I looked around the hall during our Sports Day and Parents’ Day celebration, watching hundreds of smiling children, parents, grandparents, teachers and friends gathered together,

I had to pause for a moment.

This isn’t just a preschool anymore, for us it’s family, community and a dream that so many people have helped bring to life!

To my incredible team, thank you for believing in me and standing beside me through every season. Your dedication, love and commitment are the heartbeat of My Little Kingdom.

To our parents, thank you for trusting us with your children. It is a privilege that I never take for granted.

Our very first student, 9 years ago, came to us barely speaking and struggling to communicate. With professional support and just two months at MLK, she became so much more expressive. Even after graduating, she still comes back to visit us 🥹Thank you for trusting us Mommy V.

To my family, friends, business partners, neighbours and everyone who has supported us over these nine years, whether through sponsorships, encouragement, opportunities or simply believing in us, thank you.

& lastly to Hardy, thank you for planting this seed with me and for being the first person who believed in me.
You may not have realised it then, but your belief has gone on to touch so many lives. Every child, every family, and every milestone over the past nine years is part of the legacy you helped begin.

As I celebrated this milestone and reminisced about about the past nine years, I was thinking about all the little lives we’ve touched, all the memories we’ve created, and all the lives that have, in turn, changed mine.

My heart is so full.

Here’s to the next chapter of My Little Kingdom. May we continue to raise children with kindness, courage, resilience and love.
