Last week, we gathered as one St. Margaret’s family for our 184th Speech & Prize-Giving Day, a celebration of excellence. We were honoured to welcome our Guest-of-Honour, Fiona Tan, who spoke about the importance of community through the analogy of our iconic polka-dot uniform. Just as every dot is part of a larger pattern, each student plays a unique and meaningful role in shaping the St. Margaret’s community. 🟢 🏫
The afternoon was enlivened by captivating performances from our Band, Choir, Indian Dance, and Chinese Dance, whose talent and dedication added joy and vibrancy to the celebration. 💚
Most importantly, we came together to recognise and affirm our students, both current and graduating, for their outstanding achievements, perseverance, and resilience throughout the year and in the national examinations. ⭐️Each award presented was a reminder not only of academic success, but also of the courage, determination, and growth shown along the journey. 💪
Congratulations to all our prize winners and graduands! May you continue to pursue your purpose, nurture your passions, and embrace the possibilities ahead as you let your light shine brightly wherever you go. 🔆

🌍 This Earth Week, our students explored how small actions can create big change through meaningful activities, creative projects, and everyday sustainable choices. From tracking personal plastic use and identifying sustainability improvements in school to climate storytelling, every cohort discovered the power they hold to protect our planet. ♻️✨
Beyond the classroom, our school community came together through the BYOU challenge, recycling initiatives, E-waste collection and Earth Hour - showing that collective action creates powerful impact. 💡🌏
A big thank you to our Environment Ambassadors and students for leading the way and reminding us that every action matters. Together, we learn, act, and create change for a greener future. 💚

This year’s International Friendship Day celebration, themed “Singapore: Forging Friendships in a Complex World”, brought our school together to explore the importance of building connections beyond borders.
In the lead-up to the event, each class selected a country and contributed to a vibrant Friendship Wall that reflected the exchange of ideas, culture, and values between Singapore and the rest of the world. A highlight of the celebration was the “Miss Friend of the World” segment, where students showcased costumes made from recycled materials and advocated for their chosen countries by sharing insights on global issues and how we can make a difference.
Through the friendship costume showcase, interviews, and a lively quiz, the programme reminded us that friendship goes beyond celebration — it requires empathy, understanding, and being active members in an interconnected world.

It was a meaningful journey of discovery, reflection, and growth, as our students explored what it means to be thoughtful and purposeful citizens in an ever-changing world.

This year, St. Marg’s had the privilege of hosting ‘Growing in Grace’, an inter-school dance showcase. Our dancers spent the afternoon connecting with peers from other schools, starting with a dynamic hip-hop workshop where they collaborated in mixed groups to create original choreography, showcasing their teamwork and creativity. 🎶
Later, our dancers took to the stage alongside performers from other schools in a vibrant celebration of movement and expression where the schools learnt from watching each other's dance moves. Each piece told a story, brought to life through passion, creativity, and countless hours of practice. 🩰
It was an inspiring evening of artistry and collaboration, as students connected through their shared love for dance. A huge thank you to Anderson Secondary School, Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School, and Yuan Ching Secondary School for their openness and for making this showcase so meaningful. 💚

What an incredible Total Defence Day at St Margaret’s! Our Humanities Department brought energy security to life through an immersive interactive drama featuring our own teachers, who guided our school community through real-world crisis scenarios as part of the National Crisis Response Team. ⚡️ The scenarios truly came alive thanks to our teachers who not only made every challenge feel authentic and engaging but also guided meaningful reflections that deepened our understanding. 💭
Our students came ready for action with their emergency kits in hand, putting their preparedness to the test during Exercise SG Ready - a power disruption simulation that challenged us all. 🧰
The true St Margaret’s spirit shone through as students and teachers found creative solutions to overcome every obstacle thrown their way. From working in the dark to collaborating without technology, our community proved that together, we’re truly unstoppable. ✨
Through experiences like these, we’re not just learning about Total Defence - we’re living it; building the resilience that will keep Singapore strong, no matter what challenges lie ahead. 💪 📷 Photos 11-16 by smARTS Media
