From microscopic work for otology and laryngeal surgery, to endoscopic work in rhinology, to fine tissue handling in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, to open surgery in head and neck surgery; the necessary training required to a
chieve surgical competency in Otolaryngology must seem daunting at times for the Otolaryngologist and the Otolaryngologist in training. Now in its highly successful 7th installment , The Foundation Surgical Skills Course’s will impart a strong and comprehensive surgical foundation for the attending surgeon. As with all previous courses, FSSC courses will include pre-dissection lectures and hands on dissection on fresh cadavers with a high tutor to attendee ratio. The 3rd FSSC will include 2 new components in addition to rhinology and otology : a full 2 day cadaveric facial dissection course with a focus on fundamental facial anatomy important for facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and a 1 day basic LASER and microlaryngoscopy course focusing on laser theory and safety with a chance for hands on LASER application within the head and neck.
