13 May 2026 - Endurance Excellence Award by HPB

Today marks another milestone for us — receiving the Endurance Excellence Award (the “Award”) from the Health Promotion Board for successfully passing the Healthy Meals in Pre-schools Programme (HMPP).

Year after year, we have consistently passed the HMPP assessment. However, what makes this year different is receiving this Award. Exactly how many consecutive years of passing the annual HMPP assessment are required to qualify for this Award? We are not sure.

But what lies behind this Award is our continued commitment to providing freshly cooked in-house meals, spending extra time beyond office hours selecting better quality fruits and vegetables from supermarkets and markets, and most importantly, educating children about healthy food, healthy lifestyles, and a healthy self.

More than the Award itself, what matters most is witnessing how we, as early childhood educators, can positively influence the eating habits and lifestyles of young children.

We are thankful for this recognition award - recognising the efforts that happen behind the scenes - long before a meal is served to our children.

22 April 2026 Earth Day 🌎 ♻️

Every small action today could shape a more sustainable tomorrow?

Reduce, reuse, recycle, and uplift — these are embedded in our children’s daily experiences at school. Each year on Earth Day, children aged 2 to 6 come together to reflect: Why do these practices matter? What are the things you can spot around the school that are made of recyclable materials? How can these same habits come alive in your home?

Children explore their imagination, creativity, and inventiveness using their daily resources around them to reuse, recycle and uplift. Will these daily experiences form the habit that shapes their future? Could these small actions be the very beginnings of future scientists, inventors, and designers who will champion environmental sustainability?

No one can do everything, but everyone can do something!

23 March 2026 - Environmental Sustainability among Young Children

A story from our last year’s graduand mummy. Below is her story to us ... ...

Dear Mrs. Quek,

I am writing to share a quick story and a sincere "thank you" for the wonderful culture of sustainability you’ve built at Genius Hive.

While Laurel has now moved on to Primary School, I only recently realized the profound impact your teachers’ efforts had on her. However, I saw it in action last week. For her primary school "Story Character Dress-Up Day," she was tasked with creating a costume using recycled materials. Instead of asking for a store-bought costume (which was most, if not all, the classmates' choices from mummy's understanding), she immediately started behaving like a little "rag and bone man"! She spotted cardboard boxes from our recent deliveries and insisted we use them for the structure of her wings, which we then covered in feathers cut from recycled paper.

During her time with you, I remember the school always encouraging the children to create artwork with recyclable. From toilet paper rolls and bottles to those beautiful Mid-Autumn lanterns. Honestly, as a parent back then, I didn't fully grasp the long-term lesson being taught.

It was a lightbulb moment for me. She didn’t just see "trash"; she saw potential art. That mindset was clearly nurtured by your dedicated educators who taught her to think creatively about sustainability from a young age.

Please share this with your teachers and staff as a testament to their hard work. I truly appreciate these efforts, even if it takes us a little while to see the full "bloom" of the seeds you plant!

Thank you once again for teaching our children to care for the environment through creativity.

22 March 2026 - In celebration on Singapore Water Day

A collaborative art piece titled "We Can Play a Part in Saving Water" by our N2, K1 and K2 children to raise awareness on water conservation through art.

This colouring artwork reflects collective responsibility, environmental awareness, and the vital importance of water in sustaining life. By combining many individual colouring into one unified piece, we hope to visually communicates that protecting water is a shared global effort, and even small contributions matter to our young children.

The creation process fostered meaningful connections and experiences for our young children, highlighting the values of unity, collaboration, creativity, and diversity, while celebrating the beauty of nature and water. If you look closely, you’ll spot delightful details such as fishes, waves, water droplets, plants, trees, leaves, and even a rainbow woven into the artwork.

Let us continue to inspire our young ones to care for the environment through their everyday experiences and actions.
