The journey to becoming the next Student Council President and Vice-President goes beyond speeches and campaigns.
Through the Student Suggestion Scheme, candid conversations with School Leaders, and a collaborative case study challenge, our candidates were given the opportunity to demonstrate what leadership truly means.
They rose to the occasion with initiative, courage, collaboration, and a genuine desire to make a difference. More importantly, they embodied the spirit of servant leadershipβunderstanding that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room, but about listening deeply, serving selflessly, and empowering others to succeed. ππ

The Sec 2 Leadership Development Workshop 2026 returned during the first week of the school holidays, challenging our students to grow in both relationship and project management. Rooted firmly in our Deyi values (Integrity, Care, Determination, Diligence, Dedication & Discipline), the experience cultivated a strong sense of servant leadership.
To kickstart their Values in Action (VIA) initiatives, these rising leaders pushed past their comfort zones, engaging with the public through interviews to uncover meaningful community insights.
βThis impactful experience was made possible thanks to our Sec 3 Student Councillors, who designed the team-building activities and provided invaluable mentorship to their juniors! β¨ππ

Our Deyians recently embarked on a learning journey to the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC), led by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in partnership with Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore).
Students were introduced to advanced manufacturing technologies and their applications in industry, toured ARTCβs state-of-the-art facilities, and engaged in a Q&A session with industry professional.
Through this experience, they gained valuable insights into emerging technologies, innovation, and the exciting career opportunities within the advanced manufacturing sector.
A meaningful learning journey that broadened horizons and inspired our students to be future-ready! πͺπ»ππ

πΏ Biodiversity Day @ DEYI on 28 May πΏ
On 28 May, our Green Ambassadors, Green Club, Humanities and Science Departments came together to host an exciting Biodiversity Exposure right here in our Student Lounge!
During recess, Sec 1 to Sec 3 students had the rare opportunity to discover the incredible wildlife living right on our doorstep in Singapore. π¦π¦ Up close with real specimens β including a wild boar skull, horseshoe crabs, and lizards β it was hands-on learning like no other!
Wanting to take up the challenge? Students also put their noses to the test at our Spices & Herbs station, where they sniffed out 6 mystery samples from a lineup of 20. Could you tell your curry leaves from your nutmeg through smelling? π«πΏ
π€ Did You Know?
π¦ββ¬ Those black birds you see hopping around school everyday? They're likely the Javan Myna β an introduced species so bold and aggressive that they've largely displaced our native Common Myna!
πΏ Rosemary isn't just for cooking! Studies suggest it may boost memory by up to 75% β which is why students in ancient times were said to carry sprigs of rosemary into their exams! π§ π«
Didn't get a chance to explore? Don't worry β we'll be back with more next year! ππ

Our Sec 1 Geographers had an amazing time at BishanβAng Mo Kio Park as they carried out a hands-on Geographical Investigation on water quality! πΏπ§
As part of interdisciplinary learning, students tested water quality at different parts of the river, conducted biodiversity observations by identifying and counting plant and animal species, and practised drawing field sketches. Beyond learning outside the classroom, our Sec 1s also strengthened their teamwork and collaboration skills while working closely within their groups. What a meaningful and fun day of learning in the field! πβ¨

As they faced off against teams from 13 other schools, each with their own strategies and strengths, the air crackled with anticipation. The students embarked on a journey of mathematical conquest, eager to showcase their prowess, united by their shared passion for numbers and problem-solving.
It was not just the placement that mattered, but the journey they had undertaken together. They had forged bonds that transcended mere numbers, displaying their wits and logical thinking skills, proving that with teamwork and perseverance, anything is possible in the world of mathematics.
